very few people understand the role that fatty acids play in human biology. there are healthy and unhealthy fats but most people lump them into the same group and label them all as bad. many think that ingesting fat in the diet makes you fat and that is simply very inaccurate. a caloric excess over an extended period of time and a lack of physical activity causes a person to get fat. every degenerative disease has been linked to either the inability for the body to metabolize certain fatty acids or the lack of these fatty acids in the diet.

healthy fats are omega 3,6 and 9 fatty acids. these are polyunsaturated fats and are derived from fatty fish and various nuts and seeds. they are beneficial to both the brain and body. unsaturated fats help to improve the ratio of HDL:LDL cholesterol like those found in olive oil, safflower oil, pumplik seed oil and other plants.
