If God made everything . . . .?

If God made everything, then God made sexuality. If that's true, God made homosexuals who they are. But if homosexuality is a sin, isn't this cruel treatment on God's part of His own creatures?

I ask because I've read several Christians explain that homosexuality isn't the sin, but the act of homosexual sex is. This means that, despite their God given sexuality, God is also asking them to deny who they are.

I've never understood this, and this is a major reason as to why I cannot be Christian. Why would God create homosexuals, then tell them they can never engage in homosexual sex, which, technically, is also a creation of God if God created everything?

If sex is something to be saved for marriage, would legalizing same-sex marriage negate homosexual sex as a sin?

I'm desperately trying to understand for the sake of respecting my Christian friends' beliefs. Right now, I'm horrified by some Christians views on homosexuality.

You make some excellent points. I wish I had answers.

I believe God gave each of us a free will, to make our own choices. However, I also know that many homosexuals say they aren't making a choice - it's just who they are. And I'd have to agree with that, because as a heterosexual, that's just who I am too.

I believe that God is a loving, forgiving God. I sin every single day in one fashion or another, just like every other human being who's ever lived. None of us are without sin, but fortunately for us, He still loves us and forgives us if we do something wrong.

Here's what I personally think: whether or not homosexuality is a sin isn't up to me. I can't draw a firm conclusion from what I read in the bible. It's not up to anyone in the world. What I do know is that it's not for me - or anyone else - to judge. We'll ALL be judged by God for all the things we've done wrong.

Don't let narrow-minded thinking of some Christians scare you off. Make your own decisions about how you want to believe, and if you choose Christianity, you'll have your own personal relationship with God. Your sins, whatever they might be, are between you and Him. What anyone else thinks is really a moot point.

I cannot in my heart believe God thinks homosexuality is a sin, no matter what the Bible says. I think somewhere MAN wrote that. People are born homosexual. They do not just say "I'll be gay". I do not believe that. I will say with all my heart that if I go to Heaven and God says that it is a sin I will be completely devastated and know that what I thought was an awesome God was not. I will be crushed.

Well as a Christan i don't believe God made gays. Everything God makes the devil does the opposite. God says tell the truth, the devil makes us lie etc. If He wanted us to be with the same sex then He would of made us the same sex. He created women and man to reproduce.I don't agree with the gay Christan's or those in Catholic churches that abuse children. Those people are influenced by the devil. But they think it's alright to say Gods loves us so it OK. Well it's not.

So my point is God gave us life and we chose what to do with. No one and nothing can make you gay. This is caused by the devil's works. YOU CHOOSE TO LIKE MEN. If you want to be a Christan then go and repent your sins.

I don't have anything wrong with the homo community but gay cannot be christian.

I think the reason they give is that homosexuality is a choice, not something God makes one as. Note...this is not my opinion, I just have had heard it explained this way before.

If God truly loves *everyone*, he accepts each person the way he or she is.

If a person (homosexual, etc) is good enough for God to accept, s/he is good enough for and must be accepted by all the rest of us - from the most pious of pious to the lowliest of sinners.

God made everything perfect, however our choices remove us from the perfect state. Homosexuality is not God's choice for us, we are responsible for our choices and results. We all need Jesus for our salvation.

Yes God made everything, but no God did not make homosexual who they are. Just a God does not put into a grown mans head to have sex with a 3 year old, or a women teacher to have sex with 5 grade class. Please do not confuse the issue to justify your perversion.
