Of course God helps them.
What do you think people did before there were printed books? Do you think God 'abandoned' them as well?
People can see and experience the words of the bible by hearing it read to them.
People can experience the love of God by observation of people doing things to help others with no thought of gain. They can participate as well.
The latter is FAR more important in the grand scheme of things.

There was a time, not so long ago, when there were far more illiterate people in the world than literate people. And then, just a bit further back than that, there were almost no literate people in the general populace. Reading was only for scholars and priests.
Thus, the PRIEST did all of the reading. The original church service was not exactly the same as ours are today. It was not just a gathering of people to "fellowship" with each other, or have gossip sessions. Originally church services were meant to be times when the priest would read and explain the Bible to the illiterate masses. Back then, your average person could not even own a Bible. It was considered a luxury for the rich and privileged.
Today we are extremely lucky, in that even our poorest children are taught to read at a very young age, and almost everyone can read and own a library of books.
In the case of someone that cannot read today, there are several options... Family members or church members can read to them, there are numerous readings of the Bible on tape or CD, there are video documentaries on the Bible, etc...

The simple-minded answers from the believers on this question are further evidence of a complete lack of critical thinking on this subject.
"A preacher will tell them!"
"A missionary will tell them!"
etc...
We actually, fairly often, discover primitive tribes of people in remote areas of the world, that have had no contact with the outside world for centuries. Over hundreds and/or thousands of years that these people have existed, where no "Christian" has ever set foot within a thousand miles of them... how do you figure your "god" was made known to them?
He was not. Because they have their own gods. They worship snakes and insects and other things that they have access to. They grow old and die without having ever heard of your god. And they are entirely convinced that their jungle gods are going to do whatever their religion says it does.
Therefore, though the point of this question was lost on the majority of the answerers, hopefully this will clear it up.
People die every single day having never even heard of a Christian or any similar religion. What you now have to figure out is... what does your god do for them? Send them to hell for believing in false idols?
Here's a better idea. Your religion is false, and your god does not exist. And those people that don't know about your religion go to the same place you do when you die....
the ground.

Jews do no longer want mythical god-adult men on sticks. We worship the author and have not any want for middlemen which could no longer even shop their very own lives, no longer to show others. Miracles do no longer galvanize us the two (Moses split the sea, plenty extra staggering than strolling on water). As certainly everyone already defined Elohim isn't plural. Jews understand the Torah, and how the NT conflicts with it, plenty extra perfect than Christians ever will. the reason in the back of that is you're making your attitude from the thought the NT could desire to be good, so how are you able to twist the Torah to believe it. in factor of actuality that G-d knew this could ensue and He warned us interior the Torah to no longer pay attention and to no longer worship gods of timber (the pass aka Christianity) and stone. I even have an thought or 2; a million. hardship approximately your man or woman soul. 2. give up "loving" Jews plenty, we want tolerance to love. 3. think of then communicate. 4. on no account attempt to communicate with with somebody who has 1000's of years of in intensity examining extra desirable than you. i wish this helps you with your futile efforts.

Jeremiah 31:33But this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, says the Lord: I will put my law within them, and I will write it on their hearts; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people. 34No longer shall they teach one another, or say to each other, ‘Know the Lord’, for they shall all know me, from the least of them to the greatest, says the Lord; for I will forgive their iniquity, and remember their sin no more.
God writes the law on people's hearts. Paul discusses this, as well.
In his letter to the Romans, Paul uses the same terminology when he writes “when Gentiles, who do not possess the law, do instinctively what the law requires, these, though not having the law, are a law to themselves. 15They show that what the law requires is written on their hearts, to which their own conscience also bears witness; and their conflicting thoughts will accuse or perhaps excuse them 16on the day when, according to my gospel, God, through Jesus Christ, will judge the secret thoughts of all.” (Romans 2:14-16)
God will judge each of us. And we can stand there alone, and hope our good workds "perhaps excuse" us. Or we can have Jesus the Christ there, defending us.
It's our choice and we don't have to read a word.
Godspeed.

I believe God is everywhere, his message is in everything we see not just the words he has left for us.
That being said priests are supposed to be the ones who relay the word of God. However the human interpretation sometimes leaves much to be desired.

Without God I feel incomplete. Like there is something missing in my life. Like no matter how complete I make my life, with family, a successful career, money, superficial things (boats, cars, houses, etc), love, friends, no matter how "full" I get my life I still feel incomplete. But with God in my life I feel whole, no longer lost in this world, like I have a purpose and a reason, fulfilled. If I couldn't read then I'd go by feel.

how do you think people learned about God long ago? most people didn't know how to read.
the Catholic church used stained glass and art, the images at the stations of the cross, and other methods to teach people about God.
the bible is a BOOK - nothing more. perhaps you can share your faith and what you know through other means. millions of people have been Christians without knowing how to read.
just because a person cannot read does not mean they are stupid.

Ooops...once again...limited understanding of Christian theology...
there is a difference between 'word of God' and "Word of God." One is a combination of pen strokes, the other is the Living God.
And I'm pretty sure not each and every disciple that walked with Christ was able to read. Or each and everyone of the people that Jesus touched and said "your sins are forgiven."
I don't recall reading anywhere that He checked on their ability to read before healing them and forgiving them.
Really...was that an attempt to invalidate God? *shiver* scared me. *grin*
Check ya' next time

I personaly know a man how can not write a word but his name, but he can read the bible, don't ask I do not know how. But I have seen him do it, not as a trick just in his life. He's old, late 70's can not read a road sign or a letter.
