First get plenty of water and eat almonds, a handful a day.
Then never wash your face with soap it is very drying. Take a handful of porridge oats, tie into a cloth, then put in a bowl and pour boiling water over them. Allow to seep. When just warm, wash your face in the 'porridge' solution. It really works.
On a night, gently rub olive oil into your skin you will only need a small amount to make a big difference. Don't use commercial skin products.
To really rehydrate your skin make a cleanser once a week from 1 tsp olive oil, 1 tsp honey and 1tsp vinegar. Mix and leave on for an hour. Wash off.
Best not to use aftershave if you have a really dry skin. Try using a little bit of witch hazel this is astringent. Don't use too much unless it will dry your skin out too.
If you wear aftershave put a small amount on your hands and rub it through your hair where it can do least damage and gives off most scent. Other wise use an essential oil such as lemon verbena.

Nowadays aloe vera based natural creams found to be more useful for dry skin. However I wish you apply olive or almond oil regularly in the early morning after washing your face clean. Do this continuously. Johnson's baby oil also is a good substitute.

don't use soap- use a facial cleansing wash instead. Drink lots of water (4 pints daily) and use a moisturiser such as SIMPLE, after shaving.
