To epilate is when you put a special product like Nair or Veet that chemically removes the hair from your legs. The hair will grow back afterwards, but many people prefer this to shaving because it lasts longer(since it gets rid of hair down to the roots) and because it is smoother. However epilating can be very painful for some people because it burns their skin and leaves red marks where the hair was.

basically...hair removal... instead of shaving , some ladies use an epilating tool or wand. Shaving only cuts hair down to skin level and it grows back quick. An epilating tool: grabs hair and pulls it out(root and all). So the hair takes longer to regrow and usually comes in finer and finer.
