In another of my questions, someone said that sex was a "gift from God." It is my understanding that Christians believe everything around is a gift from God.
Why, then, are we asked to use some gifts differently than other gifts? For instance, we are asked to use our kindness and love as frequently as possible as those are gifts from God. But our sexuality we are asked to limit despite also being a gift from God.
There is, of course, the obvious answer that not all gifts should be used all the time. However, I don't understand the limitation of saving sex until marriage if it is a gift from God that allows us to express love.

aurum: "Your just trying to get Christians to say that 'It's OK to sleep around like a whore before marriage' aren't you?"
Wow. Did you just call me a whore?
1) I don't need Christian approval to live my life as I choose.
2) A whore is someone who makes money from having sex. I've never made a dime from having sex.
3) If you want to go with a different definition of "whore," I don't fit it. I've had sex with three men, one of them is my fiance.
4) Go hate elsewhere, "Christian."

Wow. People are attacking you. Hugs! I think I get what you are saying. What if people do not want to get married but still want to show they love another person in the way you would a spouse, like you do your fiance. You would make love to him. That is a gift you would give each-other.

Sex is a gift from God when shared between two people joined in marriage, sex is not to be spead around like butter on a slice of toast. Sex does not equate love... just take into consideration all the things that come from having sex when you're not married, yeah it feels good, but there is always some kind of drama behind it

When we follow God's ways it is to bless us !!! God's timing is to add to our joy !!! Doing something like that before the time is to spread misery rather than joy !!! All you have to do is ask what can go wrong !!! Lay emphasis on the emotions and not the act itself !!!
That maybe a question to ask the ladies on R&S presuming you will get an honest answer !!!

I'll answer with pure scripture...
"... that the church may receive edifying." (1st Cor. 14:5)
"Even so ye, forasmuch as ye are zealous of spiritual gifts, seek that ye may excel to the edifying of the church." (1st Cor. 14:12)
"...Let all things be done unto edifying." (1st Cor. 14:26)
"For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ:" (Eph. 4:12)
Keyword and answer? --> For the edifying of the church.

Sometimes God gives us gifts that we can give to other people. OK all gifts are like that. But sometimes the gift is meant of ONE OTHER PERSON ALONE!!!!!!!!!! And that one other person alone is your spouse. Just think how less screwed up the world could be if people didn't sleep around before marriage. Less STD's, less unwanted pregnancies, no Husband would have real reason to suspect his wife is cheating on him (and vice versa.) Though that could be altered.
Also, sex is like a good wine. It's better if left untouched until the right moment.

It's a gift that was intended for a man and a woman within the covenant of marriage.
This shouldn't really be too complicated to understand

Which god?
I know you're one of the good guys, but I really think we should stop using this character as the default character when someone mentions the word god. It only encourages them in their beliefs.

it says in the bible that you are supossed to wait unitll marrige to have sex. sex is a gift from god... but you have to be wise with it, its not going to come with a list of rules..we all have free will, but you have to choose when your going to do it. but like i said it does say wait till marrige..
