don't go too high on the stall, keep it around 2500 the problem with converters is that the looser "higher stall" you go the less powerful it feels, the shifts will some less snappy and to move from a stop in daily driving gets annoying after a while. on the gears I would go with 3.73's since the car doesn't make amazing power and has ok torque down low and you wanna keep the rpms in your power-band, if you get to steep a gear it will be at rpms where there is no power. My advice when you put in the converter also add a Transgo shift kit and a transmission cooler because after installing a converter the tranny operates a lot hotter. God luck, and trust me , BTw I have a 94 5.0 with a 2800-3200 stall transgo shift kit and 3.73's

Both wonderful, reputable co's. I work in a transmission shop and these are the only 2 places we use.
PLEASE do not get a used one. The last thing you want to do is pull the trans back out over a tc.
OMG, call those numbers.... You shouldnt pay more than 200 with a exchange!
Also there are transmission shops that sell parts over the counter. We do at my shop. There is a parts dept for anyone wanting any transmission parts.
If you are located in Il, email me and i can help ya.

Have you checked with local salvage yards already? With all the mustangs on the road, you should be able to find one.

If not, then you can get with transmission shops and see what they will sell you one for. There's the Ford dealer parts department.

At any rate, good luck with it.
