But you won't see the mainstream media showing those body bags daily or have democrats using that as a political tool as they due the deaths in Iraq. Not a fan of Newt but he is right on this.

Presuming that the hypothesis is true, which it seems to be with a high degree of statistical probability, then yes, it is a courageous act to highlight this. Speaking the truth in politics has indeed become a rather perilous path for any politician.

However, it's not quite as courageous as this will likely not change anyone's mind. Conservatives with simply agree with the statement, while liberals will use this as political baiting, which they would find elsewhere regardless. In other words, there is no political cost for a conservative to bring this to light.

The real political courage would be in a politician who is inclined to favour troop withdrawal and more open borders to agree with this. In that case, he or she would alienate their base and simply be mocked by the opposition. Personally, I would applaud acknowledging this, but I am likely in the minority.

Even then, I would question the utility of this statement. For example, autoroute accidents claim more casualties than both of the above combined, yet there is no clamour for banning automobiles. Indeed, the national trend is for higher speed limits, which does increase the severity of accidents. Thus, I simply see the statement as adding fuel to other issues and not being a productive argument.

Mark Twain commented that there are three kinds of falsehoods, lies, damned lies, and statistics. While the statement may be true, it can easily lead to false conclusions with the appropriate amount of spin. Thus, I see no real courage in making this statement other than for political gain.

It was true, and needs to be said. Most people want it said, it is the big corporate lobbyists that want to keep the cheap labor coming, and the liberals that don't care about our prosperity.

I had a response from a woman on Y!A once that told me her life was nearly destroyed by a drunk illegal immigrant that hit her car. The illegal got free medical care and she got none. The police couldn't do anything to the illegal because the law didn't allow it. This situation needs to be changed and our government seems to be ignoring the will of the people to fix it.

It was true.
But not only is this true but more Democrat city have more deaths than Iraq and the drive by media will never tell this.

The man who runs the country Rush has Karl Rove on and he is worth hearing even if you do not agree. AS every one in politics knows you end up dealing and doing what you might not agree with. And this is why we need new blood who believe in the Constitution.

So biased! Look at the founder of this so called free press. Yeah more like conservative crap. Like I am going to really believe someone who has cooperated with Rush Limbau!

"Farah began working with Rush Limbaugh on the book See, I Told You So, which was released in 1994
He is considered a trailblazer as an architect of the "anti-liberal establishment" news outlets, which include talk radio, conversative publications, and on-line sources
He has criticized the Israeli government for negotiating too much with the Palestinians and abandoning lands which he believes were given to the Jewish people by God."
