2400= Midnight
1900=7 PM
1000=10 AM
2000= 8 PM
1700= 5 PM
One piece of advice. Never leave the limits of the United States. The rest of the world uses this 24-hour clock system as well.

I figured out a trick to always remember military time, when i was in boot camp i could not get used to it so i came up with this little equation.
Any number after 1200 Subtract 2 and take the first number away you know have the reg time. Example:
1900 - 2 = 1700 remove the one from 1700= 7:00
2000- 2 = 1800 -1 = 8:00
might seem complicated on paper but is easy to do in your head.

I have taught the kids this and they seamed to get it use no but they did understand it. any one can tell if it is am or pm so from there we go with lets say 1200 if you look at the clock in the middle of the day it shows 2. Well in order to tell another what time to be some place just add that 2 to the 12 and you have 14 or 1400, this in turn is pm so you know it is in the afternoon, should it be dark out or u want it to take place at 2am then o simple say 0200 and it is an auto that you are talking about 2am.;
I always hated or worried if I was calling in a an air or arty and the person at the other end would ask am or pm. I would have to go through the class one more time, hey moron u are taken grid stuff they should have covered that part n class, u sure don't want to drop HE on our own unless they ask for it.

2400= midnight
1900= 7:00 pm
1000= 10:00 am
2000= 8:00 pm
1700= 5:00pm
Military time numbers the 24 hours of the day from 1 to 24.
A quick and easy way to determine afternoon hours in military time by adding 12 to them.
For example,
1830 hours is 6:30 p.m (add 12)
2200 hours is 10 p.m. (add12)
Or vice versa...to convert military afternoon time to standard time, subract 12 from them.

2400 is midnight
1900 is 7:00
2000 is 8:00
1700 is 5:00
military time just adds on when it hits noon instead of starting over at 1:00
