Did God then needlessly condemn everyone before Jesus resurrection? Is God's weighing of options changeable when he receives a request for a special favor?

illogical answer of the day:

god is changeless, so when he appears to have changed his mind or, as actually does in the bible, reports to have changed his mind (such as with Sodom and Gomorrah) he in fact has not changed his mind because he, having known his own future already, knew in advance that he would change his mind before he actually did canceling out the appearance of having changed his mind....

...make sense?

(hint: the answer is NO)

No God did not condemn anyone prior to Jesus' resurrection. When Jesus died, he went to paradise where all the dead prior to his resurrection were, he preached to them and gave them the option of going with Him.

Ephesians 4:9,10 (King James Version)

9(Now that he ascended, what is it but that he also descended first into the lower parts of the earth?

10He that descended is the same also that ascended up far above all heavens, that he might fill all things.)

Revelation 1:18 (King James Version)
18I am he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death.

The Bible states that in the presence of two or three witnesses a word is established, this was the belief of the people before Jesus, as a result, Jesus needed witnesses to attest to His claims to be the Messiah and God. Consequently, John the baptist had to die, the second witness could have been the thief on the cross.

Deuteronomy 19:15One witness shall not rise up against a man for any iniquity, or for any sin, in any sin that he sinneth: at the mouth of two witnesses, or at the mouth of three witnesses, shall the matter be established.

Matthew 18:15-20 (King James Version)
16But if he will not hear thee, then take with thee one or two more, that in the mouth of two or three witnesses every word may be established.

2 Corinthians 13
1This is the third time I am coming to you. In the mouth of two or three witnesses shall every word be established.

God bless

For me it incredibly is that this way - God is slightly too complicated to put in a container of meant to do, perhaps does or does not in any respect. I propose fairly - what and who's God? This has consistently been something that I even have tossed and grew to become with till I got here to a client-friendly end - God is what's stable relating to the international. while a newborn isn't raped, murdered or tortured. it is God. one element that I understand approximately God is that we are given the posh of determination. We as human beings make the selections on earth. Why else could we supposedly be judged if by potential of a few miracle of a prayer we will not have the potential to verify how we can behave? does not make experience. For me and what I understand approximately God, i do no longer care relating to the "saved by potential of prayer" in spite of stuff. I care approximately how I cope with different human beings, how I take care of little ones or everybody for that remember from abuse or in spite of, how i admire and look after my friends and kinfolk and others much less fortunate then me. no remember if He intervenes or no longer does not remember in any respect to me and how i will cope with my fellow human beings. All i will adhere to is appreciate, integrity and consumer-friendly humanity to the folk around me and desire that others will stick to my occasion and that's it.

the sacrifice on the cross...is like dropping a glass of red dye into a fish tank of water...it spreads...

...if His sacrifice can not only transcend time and cover me 2,000 years AFTER, why can't it cover those BEFORE?

Oh...because they never said a four point prayer? and say a "magical" name? Sorry, but if that's the understanding of all this, it's missing the mark by a long shot.

What about Abraham? Moses? David? Solomon? I can go on and on...see..God knows the man's heart....He can hear the heart say "I'm trying to keep Torah (Law), but it is so hard, in fact, I can't keep a perfect observance... (in other words, my works fall short), ... but even knowing that, I'm going to keep my eyes on You, because without You...I have nothing. That's what God hears in the Patriarchs...and knowing their heart, He knows what they would have done if they walked after Jesus....they would have surrendered.

See...God transends time...not only His gift, but so does His understanding.

I don't think God really condemned everyone in the Old Testament. It seems he was going judge people based on what they did in life.

The Jews had a special place in his heart but they also had a stricter code to live by.

I hear God is working on the Really New Testament. This one will clear up all kinds of issues like Mayan farmers in 254 AD that were quite content not knowing about Jesus. Also it puts the 4 horsemen into fighter jets to give them a little more ooomph.

He will, in the end, change his mind.
And he is just as apt to weigh options as anybody.
God didn't condemn everybody. and wont until the day of judgement.

God transcends, we learn. We are created in his image.

But much of what is taken as God changing is projection.

Different people, with different spiritual views, wrote the new testament.

Either god's not perfect, or it's a different god. Hmmm...
