To be honest man I hate bagels. I prefer muffins. But that's my opinion. Well uh.... I'm guessing you like bagels, because you asked that question. But if I were forced to eat a bagel I'd have butter on it. :)

Look Man , Just Put Your Bagel In The Toaster And then Get Out The Cream Cheese And Put Alot On The Bagel If U Like And U Will Like It.

I really like cream cheese but with a little strawberry perserves for Breakfast.
If it is lunchtime, I like to toast them with butter and parmsean cheese on top....or:
Olive and Pimento
Avocado
Cucumber
Tomato
Peanut Butter
Honey
Fried egg and cheese
Add some walnuts (or another of your favorite nuts) to your cream cheese
Horseradish
Marshmallow Cream and Chocolate Chips
Shredded Cheese Melted on Top
Sun-Dried Tomato Spread
Smoked Salmon and Cream Cheese
Make your bagel a BLT!
Tomato Sauce and Melted Mozzarella Cheese-for a mini bagel pizzae

The bagel has to be toasted... afterwards any topping is fine.
If I'm making a meal of it, cream cheese with lox and slivered onions. If tomatoes are fresh and ripe, a slice would be added.
As a snack where I'm splitting a bagel with someone, butter or plain is fine.
In general, I don't like sweet toppings - jelly, preserves, sweetened cream cheese...

Strawberry jam and cream cheese. But the absolute best is mayo mixed with honey or jam. I know, that sound wierd, but its really good!!
