Why is it so hard to give up the bible? Why do you believe in its every word when, you dont really know who wrote it. You dont know if any of it is true & you are live by every rule in it. What if you find out that there is no heaven & you missed out on drinking alcohol with normal people, missed out on the sex you wanted because you didnt get married, you wouldnt give blood to save a life, you didnt get to enjoy a coffee with friends & you had to cover your entire body for no good reason? Why be afraid of the unknown? Live life to the full & enjoy what you have today, without worrying about pleasing someone who doesnt exist.

There's an abundance of negative implications from following a religion, but there are positive ones as well. People who follow a religion act as a collective. They're more like sheep. This causes them to wage crusades, bomb buildings and torture innocents yes, but today it often just means giving to the poor and keeping out of our way during Sunday so we can get more things done or lie in. People who have a tendency to follow these religions are also more likely to commit crimes than most but are now reluctant to do so because of their religion. Atheists are more like shepards, it's our job to watch over these sheep and ensure that as a collective they do more good than harm. Whether or not they have been heavily brainwashed or not they can be useful. Hitler had the right idea (couple of bad ones too of course), don't critisize their beliefs with logic, control them using their beliefs.

First I am not religious I am a Christian. There is a difference. Second I know who wrote it and I have seen the Word work in my life enough that I know it is true. You say I missed out on drinking alcohol, sex and had to cover my entire body. I say I didn't become an alcoholic, didn't get an STD. I don't give blood because I hate needles. They freak me out. I don't have to cover my entire body. I dress just about like any one else. Except I try to be modest. And I can't stand coffee.

I am not afraid of the unknown. Because of God's word I need not fear the unknown.

Rom 8:15 For ye received not the spirit of bondage again unto fear; but ye received the spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father.

Apparentley you have no clue what our consequences some of our decisions could bring us. The laws that God has given us are for our own good. You drink too much alcohol you're going to have a hangover and walk around like an idiot in the morning. mmmm fun!!! And if you have sex like a perverted, hyper- active monkey you're gonna get STDs not to mention mess up you're enclosure. And one more thing God wants everybody to be treated with respect. If you runaround in a thong guys are going to treat you like a virtual stripper from Grand Theft Auto. Yeahhhh!!!! Aids, and mindless insanity!!!! Sounds like a party!!!!!!!!!

This is not the way we live. I enjoy coffee,I go out for coffee with my friends. I don't like the taste of alcohol.I am divorced and I don't want to have sex with someone I am ot married to. That is my choice. I am living my life to it's fullest. I like my life so don't feel sorry for me.

Think about it this way what if I'm right then you've lost everything.I don't know about other people but I have a peace of mind knowing what I'm doing is right and that someone loves me enough to send a perfect being to die for me and that's better than any sex, beer or scandalous item of clothing.

As much as I want to respect you GFSA1, some of your comments are inaccurate.
"....when you don't really know who wrote it.'
Maybe YOU don't know, but I do ....and so can anyone who wishes to find out.
"....don't know if any of it is true."
Maybe YOU don't know, but anyone who wishes to find out can come to appreciate its truth.
What you are suggesting, you would not apply to any other aspect of life.
If you have a retirement plan, life insurance, or a savings account then your actions belie your words.

I'm religious and I don't read the Bible or believe it for that matter. You should have titled this as Religious Christians or something like that. Christians aren't the only religious people out there.
