'Schnitzel' means basically meat in a crust. Cube steaks (beef or pork) are battered and breaded, then fried and served with a squeeze of lemon juice or gravy..

Funny, I just came home from Germany and Schnitzel is batter fried veal or pork, not cake of any type. Have you tried Googling it?

its fried pork with a batter, when I lived in germany, that is the one thing I ordered all the time.. I love it. I don't know about a cake being called that.

It's not cake. It's actually a breaded veal pattie that's sauteed in butter or oil and served with mushrooms or lemon wedgies, or whatever else you'd like.

It's really good too.
