He doesn't. God relys on His infallible Church to spread His word, not on a book compiled by that Church 350 years after it was founded. His Church taught the fullness of truth before a word of the New Testament was written. It continued to do so for three centuries before the Canon of Scripture was finalized. And it has con tinued to do so ever since. In contrast, manmade churches which try to rely solely on the Bible have a history of continuous conflict, fragmentation and doctrinal chaos. The Church Christ founded would teach the fullness of truth until the end of time, even if the Bible had never been written or compiled. But the Bible alone cannot stand without the teaching authority of the Church. Which is why the Bible refers to that Church as "the pillar and foundation of truth".

Thank you for pointing out the obvious.
The Bible has been edited so many times it's pathetic.
Just read that last couple of verses in Revelations, where everyone is warned about adding to or taking away from the book of Revelations. Now at the time Revelations was supossedly written there was no such thing as the Bible, so either the warning was added in later, or the book of Revelations is not supossed to be a part of the Bible.
Let's not forget that the Catholic church sat down and decided which books were worthy of inclusion in the Bible and which weren't, or that the Protestants did the same thing to their Bible. You don't believe me, look in a Protestant Bible for the books of Maccabees, then look in a Catholic Bible.
Someone's been editing.

I have asked that question my whole life. The way I see it is the stories are good examples and the morals and values should be followed - that is just common sense and the rules of being a good person. But I can not put my faith in a book written my men who say god spoke to them. That is as rediculous as Morman John Smith looking into a hat for a message from god. You have free will - that comes with being human. Lead a good life and you'll be fine!
Also there has to be a devil in order to mess with that book. Also in the Bible it makes reference to the devil being in disguise and tricking people into doing bad things. Do you think that happens now - murderist, rapist, terrorist, molestors, etc. I do not think a devil makes them do that, that is FREE WILL! so no i think the bible was created by people the same as people created god and the devil - good verse evil.

Heh, *I* messed with a holy book. I downloaded the KJV Bible and did a lot of search and replaces on it. When I am satisfied with my work, I will print and bind it.
You can make your own too. I used the top link here:
http://www.translatum.gr/bible/download.htm
I'm going to just throw out Numbers and some other worthless books, but I will keep most of it.
Oh - and I replaced Ezekiel 25:17 with the proper Samuel Jackson version.

What a stupid answer to this question "Prove that he did"... This question clearly asks to prove that Devil didn't mess with the holy book.... it doesn't ask to answer with question...
Perfect point, we are told that this book is holy and we should follow it, etc... But where is the proof that it is so? We already know that it was written by human... My mind needs proof, I can't just take a word of another human and trust it?

I'm guessing the devil can't touch anything with the word "Holy" on it, let alone the Bible. :) And actually, he knows he can't mess with divine truth at the roots. He may mess with men's minds, but stays away from his Father. The devil has 'one up' with atheists; he knows what happens at the end when you don't believe! And he is scared and puts thoughts like this into the mind of a non-believer. Hope you have a great day.

Well Red-Eyes, I'll tell you:
It is God's habit to go about things in a humble way.
Where was Jesus born? A little, unknown town.
Where did he grow up?
"Can anything good come out of Nazareth?"
As the Apostle Paul wrote:
"God chose the foolish things of the world, that he might put the wise men to shame; and God chose the weak things of the world, that he might put the strong things to shame."
1 Corinthians 1:27.
Bible writers were mostly simple, ordinary people ....thus obliging mankind to stand in awe of that book's depth of truth.
Surely God is capable of keeping Satan's hands off a book.

Rev 11 - it has to do with the whole "tree" thing...there are so many layers to the scriptures for a purpose..
Matthew 13:13-15 (King James Version)
13Therefore speak I to them in parables: because they seeing see not; and hearing they hear not, neither do they understand.
14And in them is fulfilled the prophecy of Esaias, which saith, By hearing ye shall hear, and shall not understand; and seeing ye shall see, and shall not perceive:
15For this people's heart is waxed gross, and their ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes they have closed; lest at any time they should see with their eyes and hear with their ears, and should understand with their heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them.
Isaiah 6:8-10 (King James Version)
8Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, Whom shall I send, and who will go for us? Then said I, Here am I; send me.
9And he said, Go, and tell this people, Hear ye indeed, but understand not; and see ye indeed, but perceive not.
10Make the heart of this people fat, and make their ears heavy, and shut their eyes; lest they see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and understand with their heart, and convert, and be healed.
If these "stories" were so heavily edited then why do they line up so well with ancient texts that have be discovered and as well, why would men campaigning for God have left such as accounts in the Bible for which persons such as yourself now ridicule as cruel, x-rated and acts supposedly heinous approved by God like Lot and his daughters, accusations of rape and child sacrifice, David sin with Bathsheba and Moses foul up with the water rock thing. Wouldn't they have "cleaned" it up and made all these men and women of God squeaky clean and perfect? The Devil has often messed with the good book and that's why there are over 80 versions of it...but there is only one copy that remains exactly as God intended and scripture prophecied that would be given...guess which one? Love in Christ, ~J~

Maybe not the devil himself but man certainly has done a disservice to it with erroneous and doctrinally bent translations.
No wonder God had to give us the Holy Spirit to guide us in wisdom.
