hi guys, i just want to ask opinions/suggestions on what project should we make, related to mechanical engineering. It could be re-engineering, modifications to present etc, to solve certain problems encountered by normal people. i just need help, badly. Thanx alot.

Popular projects when I was in school were HVAC designs.
They would get house plans and specs or commercial building plans and specs and engineer the heating, or ventillation and air conditioning systems and see how close they could get to what was actually installed.

I actually had the same project my freshman year and we decided to do reverse engineering on a WATER VALVE. Some other ideas would to do reverse engineering on a fishing rod, a piston from an engine, a door knob.... if you were interested in something like a car piston you might want to check at a junk yard or even a mechanics shop to see if they could give you one.
