I only have a limited budget (max £2500) so for this price I am only really looking at Ford Fiesta in terms of reliability compared ot the amount I am going to spend.

I hate Vauxhalls, Jap cars are too expensive and European cars are awful. This is why I am only looking at Fiesta's.

The problem is, whenever I find a Fiesta which has a low mileage and is a "good" model, it is usually sold practically straight away.

It is so frustrating. What can I do to beat the vultures? I have been looking for months!

Thanks for yoru help.

That happens when you want to buy a popular model at a low price.

One way to help you find one is to contact a salesman and tell him what you are looking for, give him your name and address and tell him to call you when they get one in.

Look in the local paper want ads, and see if anyone has one for sale privately.

Ask friends if they know of anyone in their neighborhood that is thinking about trading in their Fiesta and then go talk to them. good luck.

It's a case of "the early bird catches the worm". You need to get a copy of Auto Trader the morning it comes out, preferably as soon as the newsagent opens.

Another problem is your parameters are too narrow. You state that Jap cars are too expensive. What about the Nissan Micra? They're not too bad, and probably more reliable than a Fiesta. Ditto Suzuki Swift (original version).

Do you work? if you do then go to a ford dealer and get finance. I have a 56 plate fiesta and its fab. It costs me money a month but nothing I cant afford. Then you get reliability and you know the car is new and trustworthy. Otherwise you will just have to be quicker. Try ebay they have great bargains- just make sure you win the bid!

Look on autotrader. Your budget is big enough to get something better than a fiesta so i suggest broadening your search a bit more. autotrader is brilliant, you can search your local area and put in your budget. you can get something much better than a fiesta tho.
Happy Huntin!

Check cars.com daily. You should be able to find something. I am not sure about the values there but you could buy in the US and have shipped. Talk to a dealer here and see if they could give you a break on the shipping cost.

Good Luck!
