Sometimes things that show up on CT are found not to be any problem on MRI. Your friend is assuming a bad result. MRI was developed because it gives a better view of the inside of the body. In the old days diagnosis of a "mass on liver and kidney" would have needed abdominal surgery to find out what is happening. Tell your friend that knowing the results is better than worrying all of the time about what is wrong. Offer your support both before and after (while waiting for the results). Make sure your friend knows you will be there no matter what the result is. This is a scary time for your friend. Claudia

She needs to take the test as soon as possible.
The longer she waits, the harder it is to treat, and the worse the treatments are.
Mine was caught early so I didn't have to get chemotherapy or radiation treatments. I am on a pill form of chemo called Aromasin.
Tell her that a mass revealed by a CT scan doesn't necessarily mean it's cancer. I have had cancer 3 times. A CT scan revealed a mass on my neck. I was petrified, but had the MRI anyway. It turned out to be nothing.
The longer she puts it off, the worse it gets.

Yes she should take the test. Hiding from your problems won't make them go away. It would be good to find out what those masses are. If they are cancerous then she could start treatment right away which is always good. Tell her its OK to be scared but she has to get that test done.

The fear of the unknown is worse than knowing. Now your friend can get into treatment. Without knowing this couldn't happen.

This question answer itself. Of course she has to take it. The problem will not go away by itself. It will be there no matter what. Better to face it and then deal with it. Best wishes to her.
