If I die and there is a God, I will be judged on my acts of love and charity, and if he decides to cast me to hell because of something frivilous like not agreeing the purpose of my life to pad his ego, or because I guessed wrong in a complex situation (as most moral judgements in everyday life are just that, guesses), or because I wore polester clothes or loved a person of the wrong gender (how can true love be wrong?)... then what kind of God would that be? A monster, a fool. Would you want to spend eternity praising such a beast? Burning is hell doesn't sound so bad now, if it means being seperated from such a thing's presence.
I pray you're wrong. Yes, atheists pray, because if god does exist and he is all powerful, every thought is a prayer, god would hear everything. Wish me all the blessings and prayers to change me all you like, but the problem is and always has been your god.

Uncle Thesis, I read that guide of what I should do called the bible, and that "god" who inspired it is wrong.

Hello Why,
It seems that you've already attempted to answer you own question. That's interesting because what you'd done is place a statement of your faith instead of asking a question that you're genuinely seeking an answer to.
In answering your question you question the morality of God by stating: "If I die and there is a God, I will be judged on my acts of love and charity, and if he decides to cast me to hell because of something frivilous like not agreeing the purpose of my life to pad his ego, or because I guessed wrong in a complex situation (as most moral judgements in everyday life are just that, guesses), or because I wore polester clothes or loved a person of the wrong gender (how can true love be wrong?)... then what kind of God would that be?"
I agree that the god you've created would be a monster or a fool. But, my question is, where are you coming up with the attributes of the god you're asking the question of. Is your question a legitimate question to Christians or is it just a strawman question that helps you propose your own rules for the morality of deity?
I ask this because the determination of what happens to an atheist after death based on the Bible doesn't correspond to your proposed standards of judgment. The Bible states emphatically that no one will be judged (as it concerns eternal destination) because of our works or deeds or choices in complex situations. We are judged, according to the Bible based on whether or not we've accepted God's payment for our sins. Read the book of Romans and you'll have a great answer. John 3:16 is a pretty good place to start as well.

I am Christian, but went through an agnostic/atheistic spell a while back. My personal belief is that if you believe in Heaven/Hell you'll end up in one or the other, so a Christian who lives a good, hardworking and kind life will go to Heaven, a bad, nasty Christian will go to Hell. However, atheists generally don't believe in Heaven/Hell, so I don't see a reason why they should go to either. Whatever they believe will happen to them, that's what'll happen. Now, that's just the personal belief of a 14 year old, who is Christian but also is quite loyal to science. To be honest, no one really can answer this question entirely correctly, unless they're a resurrected atheist.

I'm an atheist. I think if there is a god, he would be rather forgiving when I die. I would simply explain that i have seen no concrete evidence of his existence, and ask him to judge me on other aspects of my life. If he was really god, he would have seen every mistake that mankind has ever made, and would be very understanding, I'm sure. I'm also sure it would require more than not going to church to earn a place in hell. I focus on being a good person, and making the world better. Is there any better goal in life? And if god is god, I'm sure he will not mind not getting the glory for the changes one small person has made. How could a god be so vain?

Your "question" serves only to show your stupidity and immaturity !
If you don`t believe in God .... fine , no one can force you !
But WHY demean Him with your descriptions of "fool" , "monster" , "beast" ???
There are billions of people on Earth that DO believe in God . There are MANY more of them than there are atheists . We have just as much right to believe in Him as you have to not believe in Him .................... IF that`s OK with you !
I`ll admit there are religious people that call atheists the same as what you`ve called God , but the majority would rather "live and let live" . These people believe in God just as strongly and passionately as you don`t believe in Him !
So what gives you the right to demean and offend Him ??
As far as Hell is concerned .................. IF you knew ANYTHING about the Bible , you`d know that it`s a place where the dead REMAIN dead , until the resurrection .
There`s NO such thing as hellfire , brimstone , torture , agony , or knowledge in Hell , only a state of continuing death until the day comes for judgement , when all humans past and present will be judged either to everlasting life , or everlasting death .

Such a deity as the one invented by Moses is too ridiculous to be real. To burn people forever just because they do not do silly things andf to allow worse people into so-called Heaven (that does not sound so great to Isaac Asimov or me) is just too0 much for a logical man to accept. I do not pry. Even if you are a believer, it is useless, for the gods know best and can foresee how things will be. Praying is questioning their wisdom and power. Cave, cave!

My heart of broken for you.
You must realize, "All sin and fall short of God's glory"
We all sin, me, you, homosexuals, adulterers, thieves. Jesus said if you lust after another person you commit adultery in your heart and no adulterer can enter heaven.
BUT there is a way. A way if you are a luster, a thief (guy on the cross next to Jesus was saved), a homosexual, a sinner (everyone). When one puts his trust in Jesus and prays to him for salvation you are saved!
You don't have to be sinless to enter heaven. In fact no one is.
Think about it.

You were doing well until you allowed certain phrases to creep into your presentation.
"pad his ego"
"a monster, a fool, a beast."
These comments indicate your mind is closed.
You have already decided.
This is not a question before us, it is a statement.
The underlying misconception that ruins your argument is you really believe one can do anything now and wait till later to find out if its accurate.
God is telling us now what is best, or not.

Umm.... I don't pray and I'm Atheist. Why would I waste my time praying when it does nothing? If you pray because there might be a god, you might as well call yourself an agnostic.
The rest of it, you got right.

Don't forget you can also choose the wrong religion in this tricky situation.
Like in the South Park episode where it's revealed that the Mormons were the right choice and everyone else was surprised and pi$$ed on their way down to hell.
