I know that during Christmas they let everyone leave for 2 weeks is that right first of all? If so do they give you time to get your arrangements as far as travel done? What goes on during this situation please? Thanks have a good day!

They do give you 2 weeks and they must give you time to make your arrangements. Must husband just finished a tour as an AIT instructor, I never heard of anybody staying on Fort Jackson because they didn't have time to make their travel plans. Relax, when the time comes, you'll know what to do.

Most x-mas leave during AIT is just a week, so you would have 9 days off.

Just how much time for travel arrangments do you need ?

It takes 10 mins to book an airline flight or buy a bus ticket.

I was able to go home at Christmas during tech school. Making arrangements for travel is easy. There are many online travel sites as well as airlines that take only but a minute to make your reservations.

You will be given leave around Christmas time, however I would not count on it being for 2 weeks nor would I expect them to let you make reservations on their time. You will be given the opportunity to go home though.
