This is a common problem amoung pet owners. Remind your cat that his name is not on the lease, and that if he keeps it up you might consider buying him a cheaper less tasty food!
Try to get him to clean up after himself (I've had some dificulty in this area) My cat refuses to put his toys away- and never puts the toilet seat back down!! I told my cat to get a job, and start helping out a little more..but he has no interest in an education, or a job....

Nothing. Your cat DOES own the apartment; you just get to pay the rent.

Don't let your cat bruise your ego...I think everyone knows that you pay the rent and not your cat!

Always remember the following:
Dogs have owners. Cats have staff.
Once you understand your position in the scheme of things, your life will become much easier.

That's how cats are. You pay for it, they think they own it. There's nothing you can do about it, it's in their nature.

I agree with the person who said "dogs have owners. cats have staff". Cats are very pompous and territorial. You're ITS tennant. Just so you know ;) don't piss it off!
