Stingrays don't sting. They stab, but they are normally very docile.

All you can do is stop the bleeding and get the victim some help ASAP.

According to the article below 70% of victims fall unconscious as a result of the stingrays venom, so it's imperative that you get professional help.

It depends on how bad you were stung. My uncle got a scratch on his ankle from a sting ray and he says the pain was so intense that he couldn't even cry. He was in shock. So, it is doubtful you can walk... he couldn't. This happened in Mexico where the nearest hospital was 4 hours away on a dirt road.... He passed out 1/2 hour into the drive, even though the local medic treated him as best he could. My uncle is alive, but his wife was really worried she had lost him.

The lesson? Don't surf in remote beaches in Mexico, lol.

Steve Irwin, notwithstanding, sting ray venom is rarely fatal. The immediate treatment to neutralize the pain of the venom is to immerse the wound in very hot water. If you have any meat tenderizer with you, add that to the solution. Keep the water hot for an hour or so. If it starts to cool, the pain will return. By that time, the venom effects will have subsided.

First don't panic, get the hell out of the water.
Second don't panic or run around cause it speeds up your blood circulation. Keep your wound under your heart, try to slower the blood flow( for an example if the wound is on hand, keep your hand below your heart and tie a tight knot on your arm using a cloth.
Next call 911 or anyone for help.
Lastly while waiting for help, pray...

Well, if you can't walk, there's no possibility that you can roam around searching for meat tenderizer! In fact I'll bet that more people can find a phone of some sort more quickly than they can find meat tenderizer. When you find a phone (or yell & summon a person who has a phone) call that universal panic line: 911.

Call the emergency services. The basic first aid treatment for such puncture wounds is to immerse the effected area in hot water as soon as possible and seek medical help. In your case just get help. I don't asume you were carrying hot water with you. Good luck!

I have heard that meat tenderizer is good for that sort of thin along with the man of war. Not everyone carries that with them, when u go to the beach check with the life guard or medical people on hand.
