amen to THAT!
God helps those who admit they NEED saving and take Him at His word. He has accomplished all that is necessary to save anyone by what JESUS DID on the Cross.
Believe it and be saved! All else is religious poppycock and wont save anyone.
Good post.

"God helps people who help themselves" is probable the main oftentimes quoted word that may no longer discovered interior the Bible. This asserting is often attributed to Ben Franklin, quoted in undesirable Richard's Almanac in 1757. in actuality, it originated from Algernon Sydney in 1698 in a piece of writing titled Discourses on the subject of government. regardless of the unique source of this asserting, the Bible teaches the different. God helps the helpless! Isaiah 25:4 publicizes, "For you have been a protection for the helpless, a protection for the needy in his misery, a secure haven from the hurricane, a shade from the warmth..." Romans 5:6 tells us, "For whilst we've been nevertheless helpless, on the the main suitable option time Christ died for the ungodly."

Indeed, God is merciful, but He expects us to put full faith and trust in Him if we are to be blessed!
When He made Adam and Eve, they were given a choice. They could do anything they wanted to do in the Garden, except one thing, they must not eat of the tree of knowledge of Good and Evil. Well, as you know they disobeyed God, and it hurt God deeply, after He had spent all that time Creating the perfect place for man to be happy forever if he would only obey, and so, they had to be punished, and even after man sinned, the people continue to become worse to this day, because man wants to follow his own sinful desires, pleasing the flesh, and a lot of times, man cannot figure out why he suffers so for doing his own thing, and YET they have neglected to look to their Creator for the answer...
Jesus said - 'Take up thy cross and follow Me.'
You see, it's not easy being a Christian, but in the end, it will be worth it all to remain steadfast in God's plan for us in His Holy and Precious Word.
America is failing badly to acknowledge God, and that is why she is in such darkness, people must look to the light of God for the answer to their problems, and when they do, Great blessings will be bestowed upon them for their obedience.
Again He says -'Take up thy cross and follow Me.'
God bless!!

That saying invokes the "Protestant work ethic". It may be attributable to Benjamin Franklin.
Your anthropomorphizing of God regarding your statement that God hates the idea is absurd. God does not have human emotions such as hate.

True, however don't go overboard on this.
We are given responsibilities to do the right things at the right times. We don't just sit back and let life happen to us.
To whom much is given, much is expected.
That, my dear, is in the Bible.

That is a quote attributed to "Poor Richard", a.k.a. Benjamin Franklin, from his publication, "Poor Richard's Almanac".
Incidentally, you misuse the term legalism. G-d says that if we love Him, we will do His commandments. If you refuse to do His commandments because they are too legalistic for your spiritual sensibilities, you are missing the opportunity to prove with actions, not just words, that you love your G-d.

It's a nice little saying we use to get believers off their knees and start doing something for themselves.
