it will take a bit of time for them to become used to each other.
you can let the chihuahua know she has to be "nice" and pet them both at the same time....
you will know how your dog feels about the kitten after a few moments of observation, i'm sure. just keep an eye on them, and if you feel the dog needs time to get used to the new kitten, keep them both in your sight so you can watch them for a bit.
i've had kittens and dogs together many times, and haven't had much of a problem. normally, dogs seem to catch on rather quickly that these are babies, and also a new member of the family.
if you do a search for INTRODUCING A NEW PET perhaps you will find some useful information.
all the best!

You can adopt a domestic short haired kitten for 50 bucks at the Humane Society. That money goes for food and to take care of the animals there. Most people get kittens for free. I don't think they would be willing to pay a price unless it is a specific breed, not for a domestic short haired cat. My cat is gray and white and is a domestic short haired cat. I adopted him. I would get another one for free next time. This kitty is full of badness and many health problems. He can be cute too.

Chihuahuas tend to be excitable little things. But a friend of mine has had a chihuahua and kitties in the same household, without any problems.

it depends on the cat and the dog most kittens are able to adapt to other pets easily its the dog that will have the hard time. slowly introduce them to each other and make sure your dog still knows he/she is the alpha animal in the house. yes they are going to fight occasionally but as long as they arent making each other bleed you should let them work it out, its how animals work

it depends what both their tempers are toward each other. my 2 dogs get along fine with my 2 cats but they are both bigger then the cats. you can't really tell unless you meet them face to face
