i don't think so. at a previous job a while back we were missing the power pack for a camera we had and tried charging it while uploading pictures from the camera to the computer. it wouldn't charge. i think this is quite stupid bcuz i know power can be transferred from the computer to outside sources. maybe sony does. i can't remember the brand of camera we had at that time.

Handycam Camcorders do not draw power from USB. You need to purchase a replacement power supply cable. If you take the camcorder to a place like Best Buy or Radio Shack, you can likely get a new cable for very little money (although it won't be the official Sony cable).

USB can deliver a small amount of current to a connected device but the battery for you camera needs much more than what would be available to recharge it.

Plug on your cam & change it to playback, homestead windows will hit upon it & set up the motive force immediately. then pass on your enhancing programme & decide on capture, import the clips you decide on & edit them with homestead windows action picture Maker yet this programme is extremely common, shop your edited clips & make a disc by utilising following the classes in WMM.
