What if we did it in love instead of spite? Would you than give heed to what we say, at least consider it, if we chose to consider your viewpoint? I myself have seen 2 atheists convert to Pentecostalism, I am engaged to one.

I think it's the way some Christians present it.

I answer as a former atheist and skeptic. That was the problem I had with Christianity for a long time.

And I thought it was a bunch of fairy tales.

I'm not an Atheist, but I do feel I get similar sermons as a Witch, so here's my two cents: The problem is not the Christian faith. It's a beautiful belief system that has a lot of positive potential. It's not that you need to change your delivery. It's the fact that you feel you need to deliver it at all. I'm an adult. I was Christian for 9 years, exposed to Catholicism, Judaism, and various denominations of Christianity. Wicca chose me 12 years ago. If I haven't felt an emptiness in my life in 12 years, I think it's safe to say there isn't one there. And if there were, I'm old enough to research religions on my own. I think it's a matter of respecting my choices. Now, if you want to discuss religion, that's different. Come over and I'll make tea. But if you push religion on me, I will push you out the door. The message you send is, "I know you're an adult and that you've made a conscious choice to declare yourself Wiccan, but I don't think you're competent to make that choice, intelligent enough to know that you've made the wrong choice, or deserving of my respect and tolerance." If that's how you feel about me, you should be ashamed for drinking my tea.

Firstly of all, I simply do not believe that a real Atheist would drop all aspects of reason and sanity to join Pentecostalism. That is as much a fantasy as the bible is. More so.

Second, we don't believe in god. How you choose to believe in it and describe it is irrelevant. With love or hate it is still a stupid ancient superstition which has no place in a modern educated society.

Definitely in the presentation, my friend. Some of you try to force your beliefs down our throats, which really is not going to help.

I have no problems with Christianity, but I find the only way to be peaceful is to just present your views instead of condemning us if we don't share them.

Thank you for taking this opportunity to actually hear and respect the views of Atheists. I hope nobody gives you a hard time.

May your God go with you, and peace to follow.

Well, I think Christians usually present their religion in the best possible light. They are for the most part respectful, kind, and sincere when they try to spread their ideas. My problem is with the message of Christianity itself. I do not believe that a loving God would punish people with eternal fire and torture for having the wrong beliefs. That makes no sense and it sounds evil to me.

The Christians idea of love is often very different from other peoples ideas of love. For example, you say that you should love your imaginary god above loving your family. Thats twisted and messed up.

Believe me, honey, if my father-in-law who has a PhD in Divinities, a Masters in Psychology, is a Methodist Minister, and probably one of the nicest men you'll ever meet can't convince me, then your idea of "doing it out of love instead of spite to convert the heathens to Christianity" will not work.

I think Christianity is extremely messed up. I'd rather stick a needle in my eyes than become Christian. Especially given what I know about Christian methods and ideas.

I think your religion is crap, but its only religion and, in itself, has harmed no one. The religion I can live with (though NOT for me EVER). The Christians, on the other thand, and their holier than thou attitudes...

By the way... the Christians always say they're doing it out of love. Yet they harass me at home and expect me to just give into their idiotic ideas in gvt law.

You know an atheist that is now Pentecostal fundie??? No way. She was really never an atheist. OR, she is too weak willed to think for herself. No atheist would ever accept gibberish as anything other than gibberish.

I was taught to hate Roman Catholics by my Irish Protestant mother.
I am now atheist but don't hate your message. I disagree with the message and I disagree with the pushy attitude of some Christians - especially my own family.

Maybe if it were done without arrogance, like you have to insist that your way is the only way. Recognition that there are other paths to living a good, ethical and moral life and that that is really the goal here on Earth. I don't care what you think about what happens after you are on Earth.
