i have taken lots of different things but none of them dull the pain completely.help me.

If the pain is from the braces being tightened or otherwise adjusted, you want any all-over painkiller. Tylenol is the safest, but doesn't work very well for some people. Other people like ibuprofen (Motrin, Advil) or naproxin (?) like Alleve.
Most of these will bring the pain down to a manageable level, not make it disappear. If you can't function due to pain after taking one of these, you need to speak to your orthodontist about making more gradual changes. That means you'll be in braces longer, but with less pain.

Well Im Not Sure About What Happens With The Bands I Never Had Them But If Its The Front Braces Hurting Try Putting Your Nail Under Them And Sort Of Flicking Sorry I Wasnt Of Much Assistance xx

the pain affects people differently...of course i suggest advil or tylenol and just relaxation. i garuntee that sometimes you go to the ortho and get them "tightened" it wont even hurt afterwards.
im assuming you havent had yours for very long? well what they do when they tighten your braces is they actually give you a new wire that is jsut a little bit thicker and stranger each time. eventually it gets the point where you keep the same wire and you just get used to it
sometimes they put on these "tracks" or these things that they sort of wind around your brackets and theyre just like having a double wire working on your teeth... they hurt quite abit at first but the pain should go away.
try eating/drinking only liquid and mush, and of course you probabaly already know that but in addition, try drinking or eating cold things! they dont let the metal of the brackets and wires expand so much. my ortho offer free little slushies after you have your appointment. try drinking some cold water or even icecream!!
the pain really should wear off in a few days though... if not try talking to your ortho and see if theres any other tricks he/she knows of

I used Tylenol when I had an abscessed tooth giving me a fit.

Got some Ora-gel and put that on the tooth.
