Shar peis are notorious for skin problems. Get her to the vet, it might not be mange. Might be something else. Good Luck.

Sounds like your dog has demodex mange (if it is indeed a mange) Demodex is genetic, the dogs usually get it from the mother. The problem with demodex is that the dog will always have it, it never completely goes away. You may notice that the symptoms will dissappear for a while, then all of a sudden they resurface... This usually happens when allergens in the air are higher than normal, like spring when plants start blooming, ect. Ivermectin/Ivomec is one of the best treatments for it, which is normally given as an injection SubQ (below the skin), daily or every other day depending on the severity of the symptoms. If your vet is willing, he/she will give you a perscription, or if you can get it over the counter, they will tell you how much to give and how often without paying for the marked up version offered by the vet... Good luck, and maybe do some online research on Demodex mange if thats what it turns out to be, you should be able to find some easy home remedies to go along with the RX from the vet to help soothe the itching and irritation your dog is feeling.

mange is a mite... perhaps you could talk with your vet about what you need to do to ensure they are gone from the environment in your home and/or outdoor area?

i'm sorry to hear you're having this problem... it has to be a worry... take care hon.
