According to Dr. Trisha Macnair of www.BBCi.com, nipples are formed in the early stages of embryonical development, before masculinization takes place. Macnair also suggests that in early times, men may have possessed the ability to breast-feed, hence our still having nipples today.

Scientific understanding requires both facts and theories that can explain those facts in a coherent manner. Evolution, in this context, is both a fact and a theory. It is an incontrovertible fact that organisms have changed, or evolved, during the history of life on Earth. And biologists have identified and investigated mechanisms that can explain the major patterns of change.

I only had to maximum suitable Danny who sounds like a bright man or woman yet only does not look to understand evolution. He referred to Darwin's pigeons. man made decision has been time-venerated for hundreds of years. dogs as an occasion all got here from wolves. A chijuajua and a brilliant Dane are an analogous species yet while they have been wild, in a million years they could be separate species by way of fact they could now no longer breed effectively, (Can they? properly no longer with out some help). Darwin did no longer have a million years. He purely had numerous. there is distinctive information that guy is the made from evolution and no information that he's no longer different than some peoples faith.

A more logical explanation is that during development, the embryo follows a female template until about six weeks, when the male sex chromosome kicks in for a male embryo. The embryo then begins to develop all of its male characteristics. Men are thus left with nipples and also with some breast tissue. Men can even get breast cancer and there are some medical conditions that can cause male breasts to enlarge. What becomes ovaries in a female becomes testes in the male, what becomes the clitoris in a female becomes the penis in a male, so we all start out with the same bits, they just develop along gender lines.

Many years ago I saw a documentary about a tribe in south America where the old men who were no longer able to hunt helped the older women to care for the infants while the young women went to look for food. This included breast feeding the infants. Judging from the breast size of some of the lactating males I can only assume that this is possible.

No, it is not proof. Even you say here that Macnair suggests men MAY have possessed the ability in the past. It does not mean that they DID. It is all theory on his part, and one scientist's view does not make something a fact.

That said, I am not saying you or him are wrong! It may well be true. In answer to you question, however, men having nipples simply does not constitute proof of evolution. Evidence? Sure, if there are absolutely NO other explanations. Proof? Hardly.

Smart question, though!

Nipples are modified sweat glands. Men have nipples because we are sexless (or more appropriately "mostly female") when born and the gender designation is a result of hormonal biofeedback.

Male lactation, while not unknown in the literature is quite rare (as is male breast cancer) and is certainly NOT a viable alternative food for an infant.

No, Men having nipples does not prove evolution. If it did, there would not be creationists..

The answer is that as embryos men and women have similar tissues and body parts. If anything the embryo follows a 'female template'. That is why nipples are present in both sexes. It is the effect of the genes, the Y chromosome and the hormone testosterone that brings about the changes and masculinises the embryo. Testosterone promotes the growth of the penis and testicles. Because nipples are there before this process begins the nipples stay!

And who is the mother of the earth?
Eve?

We got our nipples from the mother of the earth, who is Eve.

But don't ask me if Eve had a belly button. lol

Nipples on men fits quite comfortably with the creation model.

First of all, nipples are especially sensitive and are a source of sexual stimuli, even for many men.

And second, nipples are the result of an efficient plan of embryonic development. Human embryos contain characteristics of both sexes at first, because they all have basically the same genetic information. It is design economy. For example, in all human embryos, at first both the mullerian duct system (female) and the wolffian duct system (male) develop, because both sexes have the genetic information for these structures. Incidentally, this refutes the urban myth that human embryos "start out female."

This has to be the wackiest article and argument of all. Why would God give man nipples? Perhaps sexual stimuli, or to keep differences between man and women to a minimum, or because they looked silly without them. Who knows the mind of God during creation. To suggest that nipples on men proves evolution is mere nonsense.

its impossible if they could breast feed they could bare children . For now lets leave it up to the ladies until some great scientist gives us the formula for such things . If there was any proof of this it would be a common practice by now.
