Adobe Dreamweaver or Microsoft FrontPage 2002?? I have a Windows XP Home Edition. It's about 4-5 years old. I like website design, but I don't know all that much about it. But I'm willing to learn with an easy program's help.
Also, where can I find Dreamweaver that doesn't cost an arm and a leg?? When I looked it was about $199-$399.

My Brother said (he's a Graphic Designer, he also mixes music for people) Dreamweaver requires about 1.5-2 months to learn all the features and stuff like that. And that I need to know a lot about HTML. I know a tiny bit, so would the Microsoft program be better for beginners???

Dreamweaver is better, but FrontPage is a little more user friendly....

Dreamweaver is a better professional's tool. Most professional web designers/developers likely use it along with javascript, CSS and a programming language.

Frontpage is a great starting tool. If you are only going to dabble in Dreamweaver, you should use that. However, if you plan to hone yourcraft and design professional, I recommend dreamweaver hands-down.

Also, Dreamweaver likely costs a lot more than $199. You can probably get an earlier version on ebay for cheaper.

Dreamweaver used to cost more than that.
Either one is good.
I think you will find either one will suit your needs.
The problem with anything you decide on there never is much in the way of Instruction. They all seem to just take for granted we know what we are doing.
I have had to trial and error more time than I would like to admit.

Dreamweaver... You can do a little programming with it too (php/mysql, asp/sql with the server behaviours). You can try the trial, it lasts 30 day.

If you want something free, try nvu.
