Should we as Muslim women be happy that anyone who slanders us gets whipped?

Seriously, do you think that's fair? I do, because a person is trying to ruin who you are. I would forgive them as Aisha forgave those who slandered her, but I would not force anyone else to do so. What do you think of the following?

Asifa Quraishi, author of "Critique of the Rape Laws of Pakistan," writes that, "In the face of any hint of a woman's sexual impropriety, the Quranic response is: walk away. Leave her alone. Leave her dignity intact.

The honor of a woman is not a tool, it is her fundamental right" (299)."

I would forgive because that is what I have been taught. It's hard sometimes but to do it emulates what we are taught and also pleases Allah(swt).

Yes I totally agree with the paragraphs you wrote about rights of a woman. It's not just about OUR chastity. It's men also. In fact we are given a lot of leeway if we are actually accused of such an act. Islamically this is wonderful alhamdulillah, however I have yet to see any single nation of today's world follow islam for what it truly is. They stick political influence, greed, and cultural concepts into the equation thus distorting the true meaning of what are taught by the prophet (saws)

I depends on what you consider a slander to be. I consider slander to be telling a falsehood about someone when you know that it is a falsehood. I think that any slander should be punished, and it does not matter if you're a man or a woman.

In the case of infidelity, I think that should be left to the couple to work out. In a relationship, both people set expectations for each other. Some relationships are more open than others. There are even couples who both go out with other men and women, and it doesn't affect their own relationship.

However, if a couple agrees that they will not have sexual relationships with anybody else, and one of them does, then this is an issue between that couple. The sexuality, then, it not the issue. The real issue is trust. A promise was made that was broken. It would be no different if it was a financial agreement, issues about how to raise the kids, family relations, or any of the other myriad things that couples make decisions on in the relationship. If you agree to do something one way and you fail to do that, then you broke that agreement and you have to work out what to do about it.

I also don't think a woman's honor is dependent on her sexuality.

So you support stoning for unfaithfulness? I disagree with cheating but that seems very wrong to me. I mean murder is worse than sexual impropriety isn't it? What about women who wish to divorce their husbands, do you think this should be allowed or should they also be stoned according to your beliefs? I know some Muslims support killing women for leaving their husbands, this doesn't sound like a very peaceful religion to me nor one that support equality since I have never heard of a man being stoned for abandoning a wife. I hear people say Islam is a religion of peace and sexual equality but I think you and I may have very different standards for peace and equality?

You need to learn to stand alone. You're not property of anyone else. Sex is a celebration of life and shouldn't be based on morals from an arbitrary imaginary god.

Why Bible wants to Cut the hands of wife if she support her husband? Because she is woman?
Deuteronomy 25:11-12 "When men strive together one with another, and the wife of the one draweth near for to deliver her husband out of the hand of him that smiteth him, and putteth forth her hand, and taketh him by the secrets: then thou shalt cut off her hand, thine eye shall not pity her." A wife would naturally wish to come to the aid of her husband in any way she could if he desperately struggled with an opponent, but the Hebrew law specifically forbade a wife to help her husband in distress if that support consisted of her grabbing the enemy's genitals in an effort to stifle his onslaught. The penalty? Amputation of the hand that fondled the genitals!
Only in an overly obsessive male dominated culture could men create such atrocious laws. As such, the penis ranked sacrosanct in the minds of men (as it still stands today). If a male lost his penis for any reason, he would lose the right to enter a congregation of God. (See Deuteronomy 23:1)

Why Bible chooses Penalty for Female Births? Are all dames dirty?

A woman who gives birth to a child must undergo a purification ritual lest her "uncleanness" contaminate others. This not only entails her isolation, but also payments to priests for the ritual acts. Thus the male dominators had even made birth dirty.
Notice here that if a woman bears a female child, her isolation must last twice as long as that if she gives birth to a male child! (See also Psalms 51:3-5)

If anyone thinks Biblical Jesus represents only a peaceful loving soul, then think again. For an act of adultery, Bible would kill innocent children for the adultery of others; hardly fair justice, love, or the concern for human beings. Bible wants to kill adulterous population of Bible Believers. Adulterous population has substantial ratio in Bible Believers. There are more than 41% love children in American population. If you believe in bible, half of Christian population will be killed.....

Why Bible snatches the right to be alive from Witches and Hookers and Promiscuous woman?
Exodus 22:18-20."Thou shalt not suffer a witch to live. Whoever lieth with a beast shall surely be put to death. He that sacrificeth unto any god, save to the LORD only, he shall be utterly destroyed."
These verses attest to the power of belief as they led to the slaughter of thousands of defenseless people throughout Europe and the rest of the world. Understand that these verses not only authorize the executions but they explicitly command them.Verse 18 justified the burning of women in Europe judged as witches. In early America, the Salem witch trials resulted in the deaths of women and men. Verse 19 refers to bestiality, a sin considered worthy of death. Christians used verse 20 to justify religious wars, Crusades and the slaughter of unbelievers throughout Europe. And the condemnation of heretics still goes on.

Why Bible advocates for gang rape of single woman by drunken mob?
Judges 19:24-25 "Behold, here is my daughter a maiden, and his concubine; them I will bring out now, and humble ye them, and do with them what seemeth good unto you: but unto this man do not so vile a thing. But the men would not hearken to him: so the man took his concubine, and brought her forth unto them; and they knew her, and abused her all the night until the morning: and when the day began to spring, they let her go."
Judges 19 describe a father who offers his virgin daughter to a drunken mob. When the father says "unto this man do not so vile a thing," he makes clear that sexual abuse should never befall a man (meaning him), yet a woman, even his own flesh and blood, or a concubine belonging to a perfect stranger, can receive punishment from men to do what they wish. This attitude against women still persists to this day and we have the Bible, in large part, to thank for this attitude against women.
Verse 25 describes the hours long gang rape of the poor concubine. The Bible gives not one hint of passion or concern for the raped girl. Considering that many people believe that every word in the Bible comes from God, it should not surprise anyone why people still use these verses to justify such atrocities.
