i found out that the pic taken by my d40 has some black dot and i suspect that some dirt have stick to the CCD.i wanna know that is it possible my camera's CCD being cleaned..like opening the camera or etc..

Take it to a Nikon service center. In Japan they typically charge 1000 yen (about US$8) to do a sensor cleaning. I presume it would be similar in the US.

If you are just seeing a few spots don't wast your time to send in the camera. just get a blower (not canned air) remove your lens, set your shutter speed to 5 seconds fire the camera and blower air into the camera that will likely remove any dust on the sensor. get a big blower not a small one with a brush. good luck

There are companies that make sensor cleaners. You can find them advertising in photography magazines like Shutterbug. In fact, there is a review of the "Image Trend SensorKleen" in the Sept. 2007 issue. You can also access it at shutterbug.com.
