I read this in the morning and did some research, a common ingredient in both is Tannin, a astringent from the fact they are but involved with the seeds of the plant, tabasco is ground tabasco peppers and salt, allowed to work in a barrel and then is added to vinegar and strained into bottles.

Coffees, natural tannins come from the coffee bean and it essential oils, that is why sometimes old coffee has an oily film on it when it is cold, it also is found in red wines and certain fruits like grapes and even apples.

In coffee, the active ingredient would be caffeine. In Tabasco hot sauce made from Tabasco peppers, the active ingredient would be Capsaicin.

what do you mean active ingredient?? Coffee and Tabasco has many chemical ingredients and compound in them..
