That's a really tough question; I don't know if there is a definitive answer.
Both groups have really good operators... I think the difference is a razor's edge at most.

SAS maybe. It is the most experienced special force in the world. Unlike the US Navy Seal, the SAS served in WW2.
But the Navy Seal of the US may win nowadays, because of their technological firepower.

I wouldn't say either one was better than the other. They cross-train with each other all the time in different types of environments. The SEAL's teach SAS water techniques and the SAS teach SEAL's how to take down a seized building. I'm just glad they're on the same team.

It would be a hard assessment to make as we never here of all the successes and most of all we never here of the failures...the only real failure I have ever heard about the SAS is that they went after Qaddafi and failed, obviously...but I would have to say since the SAS has been trained by post WW2 military men, and, they have a 1000 years as part of a militaristic nation then it would have to be the SAS....besides, what chance do the SEALS get to perform when they come from a nation with a "bomb the hell out of them" philosophy?
