What is it about humans that makes us believe we're more important than all other forms of life? Why are we the privelaged species, the only race that will ascend into heaven? Is it simply our complex intelligence, the fact that our minds can wrestle with the possibility of our own deaths? And is it therefore possible that we invented religion in order to explain that which can't be explained?

If you had a parasitic disease that was killing you, would you have the doctors kill the parasite? If so, you either believe yourself more important than a parasite or you believe that might means right.

Did you ever go to a zoo and watch how the chimps laugh at us? We only think we are the higher intellect. Most animal species have built instincts which provide the survival of their species. They need no telephones, electricity, cars, bombs, buildings, etc.

So remember that the next time you visit the Zoo. The Chimps aren't laughing with you, they are laughing at you.

And yes religion explains the unknown, but still God is the logical answer.

I actually believe that animal are made of pure energy...
they are beings that have learned all of the lessons the universe has to offer, but may what to spend more time on the earth to either stay as a pet for an old friend that is still learning or just to experience life in a different way.... with out being able to impact everyone Else's journey (which is why they aren't human)...

I think that they are the blessed ones, at least when my cats give me this look like they know what their doing is aggravating, but they want to do what they want to do. They know i love them & i'm not going to hurt them so they do what ever they please, when ever they please. unfoutunatlly not all animals are so lucky in that regaurd.

Humans are made in the image of God. That is the difference. Nowhere in the Bible does it say animals like my wonderful black lab, Duchess is made in the image of God. To me this means we have a soul, and because we have a soul, we also have free will. As much as Duchess takes care of my family(she does not let strangers in the house until mom or dad lets them through the door, doesn't work if one of my kids do it). As much as we enjoy her company, her wagging tail and all, she will not be with us(my family and I in Heaven). It is the system that God made up, not me. I'm just trying to follow that best I can.

Because simply we were blessed with the intelligence given by GOD to survive. Therefore, we raise cows, hogs, chicken...etc, which we domesticated just for consumption. Humans are gifted they are smarter then animals. This was actually a gift from GOD to survive, or sustain the life of a child of GOD. And we ALL belong to HIM.

I think that humans invented religions to combat their fear of death. We may be the most most intelligent, but, it appears that we are also the most capable of feeling fear of death. I don't think other species are able to comprehend their own demise. It can be a rather unsettling thought.

1 - No one has told us we're not.

2 - That's what we've been told.

3 - Maybe there's truth to that, maybe there's truth to the idea of an afterlife.

4 - Maybe, perhaps there is something that we cannot explain so we invent religion. However, maybe there is truth to it.

I really think you should know the answer yourself.

Anyway :
If I tell you: "I like mundu".
Then you ask me: "What is mundu, why you like it, what is the taste like?"
Do you think I can explain you the taste of mundu?? (it's a rare fruit which you never tasted before) .

If say: " it is sour but it's not like tamarind, it's not like young mango either , the flesh is like peach but not quite like peach" .
I think :
No matter how long I write to explain, unles you taste it yourself, noway you know what the taste of mundu is.
Sure you still curious , then you asked lots of questions :
How the tree looks like, what's the leaves looks like etc etc, its going to be on and on .
I believe no matter how much I explain you , unless you see it yourself, unless you taste it yrself , you will never "KNOW"

So is religion! I cant explain, NOT because it is not exist but it's like the mundu above. You have to "taste" it yourself.

For your Q about we're more important than other forms of life??????????
At least if you are infront of me and I see a cobra or python try to get near you, I would automatically try to kill the snake instead of try to kill you. What do you think?

If I have visitors say you and your family + your parents , sister n brothers (if you have) and I live in a farm ;
For lunch and dinner, I rather kill my cattle/lamb instead of letting you hungry whilst the place is far from market ,and for sure I rather kill my cattle/lamb instead of killing my neighbour.
What do you think?

that is whiteman's way
the native way is not like that.
I knew this one medicine woman who stopped by the side of the road when she saw a blackbear in the tree. She went to the base of the tree and began talking in Cree to it. "why are you up there?" she asked, and continued the conversation as if the bear were giving her answers. when she related the story to me, I asked why she didn't talk to the bear in English. She said bears only understand Cree.
