5 weeks ago my husband submitted and ERD packet. We are living in Germany. 4 weeks ago he PCSed to a different post here in Germany. He will be going down range with his new company. So, we had decided that it would be better for my daughter and I to return CONUS. Everybody else who submitted the packet, for the same reason and at the same time, has recieved their orders. When I call the orderly room to check on it, they say they have not heard anything about it. I was wondering who I should talk to about this. He lives about an hour and a half from me. He can't take off work to check on it. I am just a spouse and do not get the same respect that he gets.

Actually my husband is ARMY. I have been on the phone with the S1, G1, and various Chaplains all morning. Can I just go to the SM or BC eventhough I am not active duty?

Thank you all for your help! After getting the run around for the last 5 hours I decided to call IG. They called me back in 6 minutes to give me the exact location on the paperwork. Funny what you can accomplish when you have rank on your chest or are employed by the government. Just goes to show where the spouses rank in the ARMY!

you cant do anything without a power of attorney, thats just the way teh military works, even when its something involving the spouse and/or children only he can do it. he may need to resubmit the paperwork....or you can personally call his first sergeant and see if he/she can help you. i got an ERD no problem from Japan, but my husband is AF and i was pregnant (and classified high risk) with a 3 year old at home. i was out of there 3 days after he submitted the papers

I can tell you from an Air Force perspective, not sure the right terms for other services' offices though. The orderly room should truly have nothing to do with it, talk to the First Sergeant or the MPF. They are the ones that work those issues. Working an ERD can be a true pain, just did one back in April.
Have heard that now they are being done completely electronically, and the switch to the new process may have resulted in yours being overlooked.

Good luck with this.

Good god...if you can't handle the heat of being a Military Spouse or living here in Deutschland without your DH up your @$$, I am GLAD you're being EROD'ed! Guess you'd rather be in a comfortable living enviroment than close to your DH's Unit where you can get Information quicker than Stateside. Did you know that if he gets hurt he will be brought here and not Stateside? You will have one hell of a time to get over here to be with him...Also, it will be more lengthy for the Chain to get a hold of you if anything happens to him...and if there are others involved in an incident with him, that will prolong any Information being released due to being not able to get a hold of you quickly.....
Do you realize how much money and time you have cost the Military in your decision to be here and then return Stateside all because your DH is being Deployed? Then again, why the hell would you care...it's not YOUR money being spent...
