They are not Allah, nor do some of them follow the Sunnah of the Prophet (PBUH). Instead, they issue fatwas of death for insults, whereas the Prophet (PBUH) never did such a thing. What do you think?

This is candidly stated in verse: “We sent down the Torah which contains guidance and light…Later, in the train of prophets We sent Jesus, son of Mary, confirming the Torah which has been send down before him, and gave him the Gospel containing guidance and light. …Unto to you [O Muhammad] this writ (Koran) and a way and a pattern of life, confirming what were revealed before…Unto everyone of you have We appointed a different law and way of life. And if God had so willed He could surely have you all made one single community professing one faith. But He wished to try you and test you. So try to excel in good deeds” (Koran: 5:44-48)."

Look, if any of the main religions were run as they were intended to be run by the prophets, they would be pretty good. Thing is, they never will because religion too easily becomes corrupted by mans greed. Islam is no exception...and that's an understatement!

I definately agree with you - the rennaisance in Europe could only have happened when the church loosened their grip over everyday society, when the moral police in the church could no longer stamp out "sedition and heresy" by scientists.
If it's backed up by the qur'an so much the better.
