Why see this as a problem. Different personality types suit different activities.

People who are easily distracted tend to be more creative. You are best suited to work where you are dealing with many people and problems at the same time.

People who can concentrate are good at being accountants and graphic designers (graphic designers are an uncreative lot, because they spend all day concentrating on getting a job done, with maybe 1% of their time actually spent on creativite activity)

If you want to improve your concentration you can do things such as find more interesting friends, or just practice concentrating and reward yourself for doing so. Listening to your friends may in fact be as boring as batshit.

hmm. well, yoga helps. seriously. i had a similar problem..i was a good student (i still am) but i could never concentrate in history class....i tried yoga...just five-ten minutes a day is all u need. but remember, u gotta do it sincerely!! and oh, daydreaming is perfectly normal. humans spend 1/2 of their hours awake daydreaming :) so anyway, try meditation for little while...it might work.

The only advice I could give would be to practice. Perhaps reading or computer games might help. I think it helps if you have a genuine interest in the subject matter.
