Playing god is what each of us should look forward to. And our perception of godlike abilities changes as we become more advanced. If a person from several hundred years ago was suddenly time warped into the present, they would think that we have godlike powers, as long as they don’t run into any Christians that is. Don’t you think so?

power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely hence we should be forewarned and take refuge in the reasoned critical thinking and skepticism that temperes the thoughts of justice and morals which are to be held in the highest esteem. For the greatest values of humanity are at stake. If god is my judge than hearsay is my downfall.

You are not making the distinction between "Playing God" being "Imitators of Christ" (Ephesians 1:1-6:24).

The word "playing" itself suggests motives that are childish, immature, or self-serving. When we accuse someone of playing God, we say that they are acting outside of mortal human authority.

By being "imitators of Christ," we are following the examples he set of how to live. Much of what we classify as "playing God" goes directly against the lesson of Christ's life.

Because in Christianity, "playing god" means you are trying to be equal with God, which is a HUGE sin. According to Christian faith, the last angel that tried to be equal with God was Lucifer who was damned to Hell for all eternity.

First commandment.

The G-man is one jealous mofo, and it really gets on his nerves if he thinks for a moment that he doesn't have a monopoly on the god-trade.
