Its hard to say......look at the isrealites. they were in total peril, God sent them wandering for 40 years because of their disobience and sin. Nobody know when the rapure will happen, all I know is.....you better be ready.....NOW.

I don't think the word Rapture occurs is the Scripture you are referring to. The Rapture was really getting attention from the new Jesus movement in the early 1970's with references from pastor Chuck Smith of Calvary Chapel, Charismatics, etc. Many predictions that Smith made were wrong. I think he even made precise date predictions when he felt Christ was to return, which is really interesting that he knows something, even Jesus doesn't know, according to the Bible. Has God picked Smith to reveal prophecies something that even Jesus doesn't know. The Bible even states that only God the Father knows the time of His Son's return.
The particular passage 1 Thessalonians 15-18 in the New Testament referring to The Rapture is so obscure concerning dates and times and open for a variety of interpretations. It would be wonderful if such an event does take place in our lifetime, however we should live our lives and not be holding our breath and wondering when and if such an event will take place tonight, tomorrow or 1000 years from now, who really knows the answer except God Himself? Certain denominations place their whole theological philosophy on The Rapture.
Believers through the last 2000 years may have been asking the same questions, when is The Rapture going to occur? God is on His own clock, not ours and deals His perfect cards His way and is totally immutable.

The "Left Behind" theology is fiction. There is no Biblical support for the Pre-Tribulation Rapture. Read the Bible, not Tim LaHaye and Jerry Jenkins.
There will be a Second Coming of Christ. This much is clear. But it won't be anything like all these fictional accounts. This Darby theology of a Pre-Tribulation Rapture to safety before bad things on earth happen has only been taught and believed since about 1820. Why did the Christian Church never embrace it before then? Because is just ain't so.

People have been saying the Rapture is near or going to happen soon for a very long time... People have made predictions, and estimates as to when it'll happen and it never becomes fulfilled.
Honestly, if you ask me, I think you need to stop worrying and trying to predict something that might not even happen EVER! So stfu and get on with living your life!

Even though I'm a Christian, I don't believe in the Rapture! Guess I'm not that much of a radical conservative type! But, if it does happen I estimate it'll happen right before the "Second Coming!"

My friend I used to lose sleep every night worrying about this. I studied endtimes prophecy religiously so to speak. After being raised a Catholic and then rolling around on the floor speaking in tongues as a pentecostal, I am proud to say that I am an atheist now, and though many if not all will disagree with me, I sleep great and no longer walk around feeling guilty for existing. The answer is it won't. If anything the next ice age will come and wipe us all out and then start over again. Just like religion will start over again. It has been this way for more than 5,000 years if not billions, who knows. Not me, and that is allright. We are barely out of the caves right now.

The signs of the times are all over the place. I do believe it will happen soon, but I can't even begin to predict when. The Bible tells us that no one knows the day. It'll most likely sneak up on us.
It's just like a birth.. When the contractions come faster, you know the time is near, but you can't fill out the birth certificate till you've passed the placenta. ;)

Roughly 50 percent of the US population believes that the Rapture will happen sometime in the next 50 years.
Most of these people have believed that all their lives.
Many of them are over 50 years old.
When will they admit that they were wrong and stop spreading that nonsense to their children?

It will never happen. How can you believe that there is an invisible man that watches over everything you do? That he has a list of 10 things he doesn't want you to do, and if you do them he'll send you to an eternity of pain and anguish and suffering. But he loves you. And he needs money. He's an all-powerful, all-knowing supreme being but he just can't handle money. And his shepherds (priests) molest little boys.
If the priests believed in god would they have done that? It is just a job to them.
The concept of heaven and hell is man-made to keep people in line. To control them. Wake up to reality.

Jesus does tell us He has gone to prepare a place for those who believe in Him. He also told His disciples that no one knows the hour or the day. Isaac Newton said it would not happen before 2060. When He does come back, it does not matter whether I was right on pre-trib or post-trib or mid-trib, it will matter if I believed in Jesus Christ. I may go through the tribulation, but so what, I will eventually die and get to go be with Him.

I really don't buy rapture theology. It wasn't even something that was taught until a traveling priest started claiming a women's dream was a vision. Really though, if God didn't rescue the Jews from the Holocaust, what makes you think He's going to save Christians from the "tribulation?"
