Sharp Pain near ribs?

I have gotton this pain that came very suddenly.
It is just below my left rib cage and sometimes to the right side of it. The pain has been there for about a day now. It comes and goes but sometimes it is sharp and painful that I gasp. Its not appendicitis because I have had mine out.
Any Ideas??

Gas can also get caught up around the ribcage. I've had it happen to me before and one time it stayed for an entire week. I went to the doctor about it and it turned out to be gas.

I would recommend checking with your doctor as well to see what they think.
