Of course. There's no reason I shouldn't, no matter what I just bought.

And what else could he do with the money besides get the little things taht make him happy? It's not like he could save up for a house or anything. And upon getting a suit, he probably wouldn't be able to bathe to get a job.

So why not? It's not my nature to fail to give just because I assume what he'll buy with my money.

And buying him food instead is a very good idea, too. If I want him to have food, and if I had to buy it to see that he got food instead of cigarettes, why not?

Agnostic.

If I have extra money I will give it to him. What he want to do with the money is up to him. The intention is to help him because he is in needs. Helping others has nothing to do with a bottle of vodka, 2 packs of cigarettes and a porn magazine.

Wise man says, be good to everybody even if they are your enemy.

Busy little bee has it right. I never give money to beggars, but I will always buy them food. I have even been known to buy them a couple of bags of groceries when they are at the store. And I would buy them the food, no matter what they have in the bag. Other people's morals do not affect my morals.

I would offer him a job helping me an a buddy working on a house he just got.

If he excepts then he can eat with us and get paid at the end of the day for the work he did. What he does with the money is his choice.

I would never give up my vodka!

I'll happily buy him a meal somewhere or go back in the store to get him some groceries.

I won't give him any money for alcohol or drugs, but since I'm a smoker I'd buy the guy a pack.

I lived on the streets as a teen, I can put myself in his place. Dinner and smokes would be on me.

**Aww hell, I couldn't do it to the old guy. I'd buy him a bottle if he wanted, or I'd just give him the money. I'm a sucker, but that's just me.

I don't give my money to strangers. (i'm still a Kid)

I join things (like the relay for life) to raise money for hospitals.

You cant trust bums, heck they may be normal people that rolled in dirt so they can scam you out of money!

Donate your money to a soup kitchen or something, if the guy was starving he would go there!
Or better yet don't just donate to the food kitchen go Volunteer there!

I (a tip from my dad) go over and offer to go to the store and buy him whatever food he wants. This way I don't support things I believe might be the source of his money problems- but if he really is hungry- I am really am helping out.

Problem with this- it allows him to spend his actual food money on that stuff. However, I don't supose he'd have it.

If it is on my heart to give him the money - I would. I always have a few words with the person before I bust out the wallet. If I give for the goodness of serving the Lord then what he does with it is his choice. If I get a spirit of ungratefulness or intitlement from the person, no denari. I give to my church mainly.

True story. Once I was in a sidewalk eatery and a woman beggar came to me asking for money. I gave her the menu and told her to order at the counter. She did. And out of the corner of my eye I saw that they started to shoo her away. I really got upset and told them to give her anything she wanted. And they did, reluctantly. I figured, maybe, that was her only meal for the day...

I think that it's always better to share what you have, while you still have something to share with... Who knows? What if YOU were that other person??

Peace be with you.
