ok so i have shin splints and i serriously need to get the healed cuz we're gettin really close to the xc season. ive been icing a lot-2-3 times a day, ive been doing toe rises-a lot of different types of those, and trying to run on anything but cement, and i just got new shoes. i cannot take time off cuz like i said the season is about to begin and this year we have like 10 people that could be varsity and i really wanna be one of those.

Lay on your stomach on a bed or couch and have someone take a rolling pin (like for flattening out dough) and massage your calves with it for a couple minutes. Then, massage your shins right where it hurts for a few minutes. After that, ice your shins for 20 minutes. Do this after every run. Good luck!!

Running crippled probably ain't too good of a plan either. YOu need to stop whatever is causing your problem and see a doctor if it's serious.

Shin splints are caused by muscle imbalance. Calf strong, shin weak. The way to correct this is to strengthen the muscles at the front of the legs. Lie face down in bed with your toes hanging over the edge. Pull your toes upward against the resistance of the mattress. Try to work up to 3 or 4 sets of 5 – 10 reps each. Good Luck

u have to stop running and wait till ur injury heels and start all over
