That was Paul writing and he said, " For that which I do I allow not: for what I would, that do I not; but what I hate, that do I". Another is "For the good that I would I do not: but the evil which I would not, that I do". Romans 7:15&20. I quote that all the time because I am just like him in that way. Get so mad at me sometimes because I don't always follow through on things the way I should. Keep on truckin'...Mmm

Here is the NIV version of Romans Chapter 7 that addresses your question (the numbers below are the verses):
15 I do not understand what I do. For what I want to do I do not do, but what I hate I do. 16 And if I do what I do not want to do, I agree that the law is good. 17As it is, it is no longer I myself who do it, but it is sin living in me. 18I know that nothing good lives in me, that is, in my sinful nature. For I have the desire to do what is good, but I cannot carry it out. 19 For what I do is not the good I want to do; no, the evil I do not want to do—this I keep on doing. 20 Now if I do what I do not want to do, it is no longer I who do it, but it is sin living in me that does it.

romans is a great book, it talks to your heart, and clearly explains where you should be

Paul was a big time Christian hater, turned round.
Read bout his converstion, he killed St Stephen, the first martyer
So much history, for the myth minded ones out there.

If you really need to know this, you should get a concordance. Or check out online Bible, (I am not sure the address, search for it) it is free and gives you a computerized one. Good stuff.

there isn't one.
though many christian sects do hold to the precept-man made opinion---that their 'bloody lamb' will clean it all up, at least on the spiritual side. Hos 8:13 They LOVE sacrifice; they sacrifice flesh and eat it; but the LORD has no delight in them. Now he will remember their iniquity and punish their sin
