This is a car for old people, that being said my father in law has one and it is a piece of junk! Try a Chevy, I`ve owned 2 in the last 14 years and they are quite dependable. I`ve only had my current one for less than a year , the one before for 13 years!!!!

There is some truth to the "who" the target buyer is. The Buick is a rather high maintenance car because it is designed to be driven by grandma to church on Sunday. But as you know, people drive the heck out of their cars these days. Lots of miles in a short period of time.

However, if you can overlook the doggone accessories that fall apart, then the drivetrain and other typical GM stuff is very sound. Forget A/C and towing and abusive driving habits.

I'd put my money in another used Cadillac before buying another used Buick. Caddy's are very hardy in comparison to the lower end GM cars. Very tough and the best engineering goes into the Caddy's. For example, Caddy's have two radiator cooling fans that run at variable speeds verses one fan that is either on or off on the lower end GM cars.

Good Luck!

I agree.. definitely nay. Try to "steer" him toward something more reliable that wont cost a fortune to repair should it get damaged. And should you decide to sell it in a few years, a maxima could easily earn you your money back.
