A number of religions are of the view that only their followers will go to heaven. But religion does not necessarily strip mankind of the ability to have autonomous opinions.
What is your opinion?

No, I don't believe that. If I believed that only people from my own particular religion will be populating Heaven, that'd be a rather narrow viewpoint.

No I am a Christian but i think there are certain conditions that allow people to enter heaven.

For Example,
Children: they are automatically going to go to heaven if they die as children, the line on where someone stops being a child is very fuzzy to me though.

I think mentally retarded people will also go to heaven automatically, when's the last time you saw a sinful person with down's syndrome? They always make me smile, they are the least perverse people on earth.

My other thought is one that confuses me very much, and it is the thought of a person who dies without ever knowing about God. Like people who live in the tribes of Africa and the Amazon. Will they go to Heaven or Hell? I've heard many perspectives on this question but I just end up more confused.

So I really don't think people who are not Christians will instantly go to hell, but I don't know for certain if they will go to heaven either.

Definitely not. Many followers of my religion are not destined to go to heaven, I believe. I even doubt if I can ever go to heaven without feeling the pangs of hell fire.

Just being a Muslim is not enough in Islam, there are many fundamental aspects to be followed, such as Salat (prayer), Zakat (donation to the poor) etc. A Munafiq, regardless of being a Muslim, can not be granted heaven unless Allah permits.

He who lies, breaks promise and misappriates others wealth is a Munafiq.

But highly virtuous and benificial non-believers can achieve heaven under the decision of the All-Knowing Allah.

Everyone has an equal oppourtunity to go to "heaven" but everyone will need to be baptized by one holding God's authority. That authority can only be found in His Church.

That's why the ideas refered to in these scriptures from 1Peter 3 and 4 are so important:

" 18 For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the Spirit:
19 By which also he went and preached unto the spirits in prison;"

and

" 6 For for this cause was the gospel preached also to them that are dead, that they might be judged according to men in the flesh, but live according to God in the spirit."

My opinion as a muslim based on Qur'an and hadith, there people wiil go directly to heaven :
1)all prophets since Adam up to the last prophet Muhammad pbuh
2)all loyal followers of prophets before Jesus, during the life of Jesus and during the life of Muhammad pbuh
3)all syuhadas who died in maintaining their related religion in line with its era
4)all babies and children who died in their child era before they grown up,because they have no sin
5)all muslims after muhammad pbuh died who have no sin because have been forgiven by God and they have much good deeds.
The rest of the people together with all satans will go to hell for a certain period or for eternity .e.g all unloyal followers of the religion in the era of prophets, all unbelievers and all jews and christians after the death of Moses and Jesus and also all muslims after the death of Muhammad pbuh who have great sins and their bad doings more than their good doings.

I think there will be people of many, many religions in heaven. No one religion has a "corner on the market."

My Fellow Church members told me that unless others were saved they would burn in hell. They told me that a knowledgeable child would burn in hell with out being saved.
They basically said anyone not like them would burn in hell.

I say F that!!! And F Religion.

I am a believer in God, I enjoy my bible, I love learning about God and his ways.
But I don't believe in Religion. I think Man made religion to suit his needs and demands, not God's.

I believe anyone who believes in God, and lives a good, caring, and giving live, will get to God where ever he maybe.

No... Anyone who asked God to forgive their sins and then asks Him into their hearts will go to heaven. It doesn't matter what religion you are.
