I always used Magic ISO: http://www.magiciso.com/

It's free, and it worked pretty well for ISOs. I stumbled across it when I was looking for a program I could use to mount ISO images as Daemon Tools wasn't working. I found MagicISO and MagicDisc and have been using them for a year or two. They haven't failed me yet.

Check out http://www.wikihow.com/Rip-DVDs if you are just trying to rip movie DVDs.

For Mac users, Mactheripper is free one. If this can't meet your need, you can try DVD Creator for Mac.http://www.mp4converter.net/dvd-creator-mac.html.
