Not really necessary unless you are using DirectX 10 software or plan to. Vista is just more eye candy than XP. Also, you will need a much much faster computer to run Vista.

.I have only heard bad things about Vista. Stick with XP, at least they have worked out most of all the programing problems. Vista was just thrown together with all kinds of problems.. Too many to name them. And alot of holes and conflicts, with other programs.The only thing it increases are your headaches!!!

I run Vista.

I don't recommend the upgrade.

Games are 10-20% slower.

Driver support is lacking for older components.

I have constant video driver issues (with a Crossfire AMD system.. yeah, I know that is redundent).

The good?

Better security

Good multi boot utilities (once you learn them)

Umm.... pretty screens?

If you do upgrade, upgrade to Premium. Ultimate is a waste of money and basic is too basic.

vista sucks!!!
theres soo many problems with vista.
