This was spoken in a movie called Madea's Family Reunion...

The sun has come, the mists have gone
We see in the distance, our long way home
I was always yours to have, you were always mine
We have loved each other, in and out of time

When the first stone, looked up at the blazing sun
And the first tree struggled up, from the forest floor
I have always loved you more

You freed your braids, gave your hair to the breeze
It hung like a hive of honey bees
I reached in the mass, for the sweet honey comb there
God how I loved your hair

You saw me bludgeoned by circumstance,
Lost, injured, hurt by chance
I screamed to the heavens; loudly scream
Trying to change our nightmares into dreams

The sun has come, the mists have gone
We see in the distance, our long way home
I was always yours to have, you were always mine
We have loved each other, in and out of time

The night has came, without the moon
You don`t know that I was waiting
You don`t know that it was raining
A lot of water went away along with the river
But you don`t know that I was crying

My husband and I love the Madea plays/movies!

The poem is lovely...full of heartbreak and promise. It has that emotional relationship quality. Love can go so deep, but trials do arise...our heart never forgets.

The Madea actors can be so ridiculously funny and then, something like this poem is presented! Pretty amazing.

My husband tears up when Madea (who is fantastic) gets all serious. What a guy/gal!! :)

Sounds like it ought to be set to music. Poems that seem a little too corny alone often work very well as lyrics.

Some of us are gifted with this ability to share our 'poetry'. All of us are gifted with the capacity to appreciate it. Some choose not to but those are not the ones we compose for.
