Prayer is direct communication with God, so as He knows (from reading your heart) what you are voicing...it doesn't matter. Communicating with your Creator keeps you calm, and upbuilt. Whether you're screaming, whispering,thinking...your prayers should take on many forms...there are NO rules.

I like to pray with some amount of volume. It helps keep me focused on what I am doing. If I am silent, I sometimes get sidetracked.
Then too, at prayer meetings, if you are used to praying out loud, it doesn't shock you to hear your voice, and you can pray for real. (I read that, and it seems to work.)
In general, I am a big fan of praying in private. Since before I got saved, I have been a follower of the closet prayer theory. It is nice to pray with fellow believers, and He did for certain say to pray together, but over all, I still like praying by myself.
I am not married, nor have kids. So audible prayer is something I have less of a problem with than others might. I keep that in mind as a future issue.

If I'm alone, I pray silently. Unless I'm really into the prayer at that time and feel it would be appropriate to pray out loud. However, I try to do it so no one sees me. But if I'm in a group of people who are praying together, then I pray out loud.

I most often pray alone and silently. Christ tells us in Mat 6:6, "But thou when thou shalt pray, enter into thy chamber, and having shut the door, pray to thy Father in secret, and thy father who seeth in secret will repay thee." Prayer is usually something I keep between myself and God. I neither need nor want anyone else to pass judgment on the forms my prayers take.

The exception, of course, is if I am praying in a group, such as when I lead a Rosary or Novena. Then the prayers are said aloud so that all present may participate. I also occasionally sing plainchant with a group, which is a very old form of prayer sung in Latin. After silent, solitary prayer, I think this is my favorite. It's a very solemn, reverential way to pray that connects us to our past and all the prayers of the faithful offered in this manner over the span of many centuries.

Talk to God like you're talking to your Father or to a friend. When I'm alone I pray aloud---enough so I can hear my own voice. When I'm walking bymyself I also pray to Him aloud. When I'm in a restaurant I pray silently. Pray to express worship and dependence on our Great Provider. Don't pray to impress other people.

To God be the Glory! Forever and ever! Amen!

The first important thing I would tell you is that I pray any time, anywhere. The second thing I will tell you is that I will pray in crowds of people, but without any one knowing it, silently.

One of the most important things I can tell you about praying is that I will often pray like I am talking to another person in the car, or in a room, or outside. Just like I am talking to anyone. Never losing sight that He is there and listening. He always keeps His word.

i dont care if people hear or see me pray, it is well within my rights to pray in public, and if it offends people, then they should look away. I am a former Roman Catholic, so I pray often at just about every meal, so whenI get my food, I will say the prayer of that meal (breakfast, lunch, suppertime) and an ocassional Hail Mary, and the Lord's Prayer, and a personal prayer....it takes a while but its a habit that i do not intend on kicking

God Bless

When I pray, I might mouth the words, but don't make a sound. I'd rather my prayers be silent. I feel that it's my time alone with God - just the two of us. I'd like what I say to God to be private.

God does, however, say that you should not be afraid of praying in front of others. He says that you shouldn't be afraid to proclaim his name to others. With that said, I think that praying outloud is very God-glorifying, as long as you are not trying to boast yourself.

I guess I'm just too shy to do that, though! :-P

I hope I answered your question.

I pray silently, aloud, alone....wherever/whenever is appropriate. You pray however you want if you feel that it won't offend anyone and if you don't care that's up to you also.
