The Bible is a collection of books written by various authors, which the Christian religion - and the Jewish religion for their parts of the Old Testament - believes was inspired by God. In modern times, the Bible has 3 main forms regardless of the version or translation. The first of these is used by the Jewish people and only contains part of the Old Testament and none of the New Testament. The second is used by Protestant Christians and contains the entire New Testament and part of the Old Testament. The final form is used by Catholic and Orthodox Christians, and contains the entire Old and New Testaments. The reason Protestant and Catholic/Orthodox Old Testaments differ is that when the early Christian Church gathered these books together and formed the Bible they came up with roughly the same Bible as the Catholics and Orthodox use. After the Protestant Reformation, Protestant Bible scholars wanted their own translations of the Bible, and only used the Old Testament books originally written in Hebrew, which excludes the 7 Old Testament books written originally in Greek.
Unfortunately, I do not know how the Quran came together.

Both are from Allah, the One and Only God.The differences are: Bible was sent during Jesus prophethood and Quran(the last testament) to Muhammad (pbuh) the last Messenger. Both of them are Allah's Messengers. The revelation of Quran was to complete all testaments before it. Other than that, the content of Quran was still the same as when it was sent down ,but Bible has changed. Bear in mind that God of Adam, Abraham, Moses, Jesus and Muhammad is the same God.

Bible is the word of God inspired by Holyspirit. God used many men of different parts of the world in different span of time to write it. But still these generation gap or culture difference will never affect the uniqueness of Bible. We can read it from Genesis to Revelation as one continous story.
Quran was given by an angel (???) to Mohammed and he memorized it (that is what they say) . He memorized it and taught and they all learnt it by heart. But later when they felt that they will forget in future, they started writing it in tree pallets etc. But many of those things are lost and some they made it into a book. But present quran is a modified one.
As Quran says it is the continuation of Bible, it should have a resemblance to Bible. But it is a contradiction to Bible. So it is a BIG LIE of SATAN.

Look what the great scholars & historians say about the Quran.......
"... But the Meccans still demanded of him [Muhammad] a miracle, and with remarkable boldness and self-confidence Mohammad appealed as the supreme confirmation of his mission to the Koran itself. Like all Arabs they were connoisseurs of language and rhetoric. Well then, IF KORAN WERE HIS OWN COMPOSITION OTHER MEN COULD RIVAL IT. If they could not [ and it is obvious that they could not ], then let them accept the Koran as an outstanding evidencial miracle."--[Mohammadanism, An Historical Survey, by HAMILTON A.R.GIBB, pg-40]
"....All these scriptures were written revelations, and all alike are to be believed and accepted, since they all cofirm one another and the Koran in particular not only confirms earlier scriptures but as final revelation, clears up all uncertainities and is the repository of perfect truth."--[Ibid, pg-53]
" If therefore, the religion which Mahomet taught be so impure, gross and absurd, and the mean whereby he established it so wicked and unjust as the Christians endeavour to represent them, the Authority both of miracles and prophesies must fall to the ground, for no man can believe that God will work a miracle to justify a false religion, or mention the author of such a one without a mark of infamy."--[Ibid, pg-164]
" The laws of koran revolutionised social relations. Increased
production, the result of this revolution quickened trade which
ushered in an era of cosmopolitanism and spiritual uplift."
--[The Historic Role of Islam, by M.N.Roy,pg-21,Vora & Co.8 Round Building, Bombay-2]
The Magna Carta and English common law were also influenced by the Quranic code. Pope Sylvester II graduated from a Spanish university with a degree in Islamic Law. He went on to translate Islamic legal texts into Latin and called it the "New Roman Law." This code became the basis for the French legal system as well as that of Louisiana
Some precepts of law familiar to us today were also inspired by the Quranic code. Its influence on the international law is characterized by strict limitations on warfare, prohibition of harming of civilians or destruction of trees and crops, and adherence to treaties.
Quran is the only scripture which has not been altered, deleted, added, concealed like the Bible.

The Bible was inspired by God and written by men that were filled with the holy spirit. As a Christian I believe that the Quran is a book inspired by the devil to create a false religion.

People who lived in the desert wrote both the Bible and the Koran. Most of the writings in each collection serve one of three purposes:
A) Laying down the law. Sure you can give it God's backing, but the laws are social laws.
B) Historical Stories. That's what most of the Bible is, the Koran too from what I've read of it.
C) Philosophy.
I'm surprised at how many people responded and mentioned they had not read at least parts of both the Bible and the Koran.
This is why we kill each other...because we are stupid and ignorant closed-minded bastards.

Bible was written by many authors as directed/inspired by Holy Spirit of God. I know the words written in it are very true because I have seen the reality of it in my life. The teachings of Jesus, his healing to people, his love for the people, his importance to tell the message about the reality of heaven and what God expects from us is all true.
I was amazingly lead to know the truth, please read here how my life was changed my God,

I dont know about Quran, but it was written later than the bible and were taken somethings from bible. But the principle followed is mostly hatred but rather with the true God, He needs humans to love one another with trueness.
